Merry Christmas, and welcome to the craziness that is Secret Santa Season on HJ2! While participating in Secret Santa is fun, it is hard to do for accounts that don't have a big daily bonus. The prize for this contest is 1 million hbs to be used to enter the first Secret Santa category.

Please don't enter if you can afford to participate in Secret Santa on your own. This contest is being held to enable someone to participate who otherwise would not be able to do so :)

My grandmother likes to give gifts but usually forgets to do so around Christmas or birthdays, so she sends people gift boxes on other holidays, like Fourth of July or Easter. Last year she let me know to look out for a Halloween box. It came and I opened it with my roommate. It had a bunch of different Halloween decorations inside. I reached my hand into the styrofoam packing peanuts to throw them in the trash and my roommate just about jumped out of her skin. Rolling around in the bottom of the box was one of those gory fake fingers that come out as decorations around Halloween. I assumed it was a prank but after calling my grandmother to thank her I realized that it wasnt a prank, she just genuinely wanted me to have this fake finger.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as "weird" as far as the present goes, but my best present-related story is also from my grandmother: one Christmas, we were all taking turns opening presents (as we always do). I opened one, and it was a hair dryer! At the age of 13, I was not super-excited, but hey, at least it was potentially useful! Cool.
Everyone takes a couple more turns, and it gets back around to me. It's... a hair dryer? Grandma goes "oh, I must have mislabeled one, that's probably for another of the granddaughters!"
Fast forward: the other granddaughters have each received a hair dryer, and I still am in possession of two. There are just a few presents left, and I open my second-to-last. What is it? (Bet you can guess!)

A hair dryer.

(EDIT: After having read the threads of encouragement to smaller barns to participate in SS, I'm thinking I might very well be able to manage it on my own funds. I've been around long enough and have been helped enough so far that I'd rather someone else get assistance!)

Well I’m really not sure I can beat the triple hairdryer story... Gave me a good chuckle.
My grandmother used to give me some rather odd Christmas presents. I remember the one year I was opening my presents and she had completely forgotten what she had bought me (she’s organised and does it months early) 27 pairs of socks later (all wrapped no more than 3 at a time) a few tops, some general Christmas nicknack then out comes a wrapped up packet of toilet rolls and a wrapped bottle of bleach <:-P Honestly still not sure to this day if they were actually meant for me, but heyho every little helps and all

One year my mom insisted that we all gather together for Christmas at my older sister's house. I was.I'm my late 20's and Hubby and I had just purchased our first home after having returned from our Army Duties. Mom passed out all the presents and had everyone open them in turn. Every one got really cool but smaller items. My present came out in a big box that was at least the size of a decent western saddle pad. I got my hopes up because I really needed a new one. But then it rattled (metallic sounds) so definitely not a saddle pad. So my mind went to folding saddle rack. (As you can see I'm ever hopeful for horse related items.) My family has known this since I was three years old btw.

Then I unwrapped it. The entire family could see it on my face. For a moment, I thought maybe she just found this big box for packing. But nope it was real.

I'm not sure I have a funny gift story, most of my gifts were things I wanted, or people knew I'd want.
But, my (step)dad apparently can't keep secrets. He'll always ask me what I want, I'll send him a list, and he'll get what he can afford. And then litertally tell me the next day that he got it and he'll tell me where in the house it is. =))

I don't intend to enter, but I figured I'd tell you my weird gift story. My dad has always been silly/funny. One year when I was a kid, I got my ears pierced during the summer. When Christmas came around, I had a small red box hidden in the tree...from my dad. My dad never shopped. My mom always did it and signed for both of them. Inside the clear lid was a note with a long story about how my dad couldn't find me anything for Christmas so he got me some reindeer poop. Inside the box was four sets of earrings. While I don't know where the earrings have went, I do still have the note!

The winner is @WildAdventure! Hbs will be coming your way shortly. I'll be getting my own place sometime in 2020 and a weird hamper would probably bring me an odd amount of joy. But if I thought I was getting a nice pad I might be a teeny bit disappointed too.

@darkpixie even with a good hairdryer it akes a lot of valuable time to dry your hair. Now you can run two at once and get it done twice as fast! XD

@Ellesmere022 That's a lot of socks! Your feet will never be cold again!

@SpryofJune I love people who can't keep quiet about gifts! I am a secretive ninja gift giver, but there is something so wonderful about people who get so excited about giving gifts that they can't keep it to themselves!

@ChrystalBlues that is such a cute story! I love that you still have the note.

@WildAdventure it looks like your account is still to young to receive direct hb payments. If you put a horse up for 1 million hbs in the Pointed Creates or New Frustration Sales chatroom, I will buy it from you and we can transfer the cash that way.

I don't think he's excited. He's never excited. I think he just doesn't really care if you know what you're getting, epsecially if you told him it's what you wanted. He's already said he wants nothing. As he does every year. But her still gets things, and always looks unenthused, even though you know he likes it, he just doesn't get excited or anything of the sort.
