@BlackWyld I checked the mare that looked like she had ice. I didnt see any orange as in closed Gene's- I am still learning- what does it mean if she has hidden Gene's and no orange?

No worries. I ran into the same confusion when I was newer too. :)
For some reason not all of the closed gene ices show up as orange. It is a bug that Ammit hasn't gotten around to fixing yet as she has a lot on her plate.
Ices 3, 7, 11, 12 are all closed ice genes that require a license that don't show as orange.
I am not sure the original cause for the lack of orange. An older, more experienced player may be able to explain it better than I can.
