A question about a tack pack
-
How do I get the big floof pack to match my horses' coat colors? I'm a little late to the party for this one, but I have quite a few drafts now and I want to dress them up right. Thanks!Thanked by 1BlackWyld

I save the horses picture and use an online color picker to get the code for the coat color.EasternShowBarn

yeah, so, that's maddening. :P What you can do is google the hex color picker and finagle until it's close. :P
Or just listen to EasternShowBarn, who answered before I finished typing. :P -
DevilsParadise, use this link: https://imagecolorpicker.com to choose the color of your horse's legs. click just at where the floof will stop.
Each leg is a different color. When you enter the resulting hex codes into the boxes, the 1st box is the near hind, the 2nd box is the near fore, and the 3rd box is the off fore.
In the resource list below, there are two images of horses I've used this method on.
Here are a couple other useful links

Yup, ask a room full of experts and you'll have a loud room but maybe an answer tomorrow?

Or...If you use google chrome. Look up the app 'Colour pick eyedropper". It saves on the top right of your screen. You just click it, hover over the horse and it will give you the colour you need :) No need to save the picture first

If you play on a phone, there is an app you can use that opens over top your browser and you can tap on the horse wherever you want to color pick and it will give you the hex code.#28036

Lol thanks everyone! I'll mess around with it when I get home from work tonight :)

Sweet! Thanks, everyone! Here's the guy I was messing with. I have a lot of work to do now, since acquiring 4 tack packs in a week :)

You've gotten a lot of advice for selecting colors! I have one bit of advice that I've learned from past experience. I've found, regardless of the horse's color, I prefer to default to white fluff for my varnishing / snowflake appaloosas (which is the majority of what I breed). The color match quickly becomes mismatched as they varnish out and I'm either having to rematch all the horses every few seasons or I get horses that look like they've been tromping in mud!

If I stick with white fluff, it just looks like basic white socks and then gradually matches as the horse completely varnishes.

That's good advice. Thank you @Waldgraf :)
