There is no penalty for crossing horses. Be they riding horses to cobs, father to daughter, anything.

The only thing you need to watch out for is frame, splash 2, splash 3, and the lethal kit combos. Apart from that, go nuts.

Ammit once mentioned a challenge to anyone who wanted to start with Riding Horses or Ponies and breed up to Drafts. You could go in the other direction as well.

These cross-size breedings happen in real life, on purpose (European draft breeds crossed with Thoroughbreds and Arabians to get the Warmblood sport horses) or accidentally. The therapeutic horseback riding program I volunteer with once had a lovely bay tobiano pony. We were told that his dam was a Tennessee Walking horse and his sire was a miniature horse. It was a puzzle we never solved about how that cross came about. :D

My guess with the TWxMini parents it was probably AI. The bigger question is why?
