Tack questions
-
Does the tack/grooming/background matter at all when it comes to showing? Is there any benefit to selecting "appropriate" tack, or is a show just a roll.of the dice, and it's fine to enter my O/F horse wearing a stable halter?
Do I need to get my ponies naked before chucking them in a pasture? Is it OK to just leave the tack on, or does that increase the risk of 'damage'?
Can I still show a horse that's pastured?
The breeding info says mares will produce better foals if left pastured for 30 days. Does that clock start when I put her out, or does it reset at the start of each new season? ( and if I can show from the pasture, does that count against her 30 days, or is she still "pastured"? -
Tack has no effect on showing. Training is the only thing (I know of) that has any influence on showing.
Tack has no influence on anything other than looks. Horses can be tacked up or "naked", it doesn't matter. Damage is kind of random.
Pasture horses can not be shown while in pasture.
The bonus is cumulative. 5 days is better than 0, 10 is better than 5, etc. Once they get 30 days, that is the max and it will stay as long as they are in pasture. It starts over each time they are removed from pasture.#28036 -
You can move a horse between pastures and keep the pasture bonus, but the instant your mare’s little toes hit the barn floor she loses all of her accumulated bonus. Stallions don’t get a pasture bonus though, so keep your boys in the barn and show them, only putting them in pasture long enough to breed.

Thanks!

Does the Draft Tack fit Cobs? I'm so tempted to get it but it's so incredibly expensive. If I can't use it on my heavy ponies that will decide for me.
