GMT help
-
I've tried several times to remove the Frame from this stud colt. The lab says I have 1 GMT. But it returns "no edits available" when I try. I removed the Frame from another colt and it worked fine.

Any suggestions? Should I post it in the bug forum? -
There are no edits available. Look at his sire. ;)Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

I'm sorry. I don't understand. I know his sire is a Freaky Friday. Does that mean Frame can't be removed from his foals?
-
Yes. On lined horses you can not change the genes to something the parent does not have. His sire does not have a "O", only Olw, and therefor you can not change it to O.ID 108

EDIT: Didn't see Maribo's reply until I reloaded the page after commenting :)
Freaky Friday horses are Homozygous for frame which means, no, you can't remove it. The parents of the horse have to have the gene you want to change on the foal and since the sire is Olw/Olw ALL his foals will be Olw/O.
That being said, I have a bundle of DP colts from this season if you are interested in one :)

Yes, a Freaky Friday foal can never be free of frame because the Freaky Fridays are homo frame, meaning they will ALWAYS pass on a frame gene. There is no possibility of the sire passing on an O gene, so you can't put the O gene on to the foal. You can only GMT genes that were possible to get from the parents.

I get it, now. Thanks for the offer AHayes, but I have two or three DP lines going. I'll just have to get O mares for him from a different line. And put all the Freaky Friday fillies to a Gen 2 stud from a different line as well. Aw, shucks! Thanks for the explanations everyone.Thanked by 1AHayesHorses

What I did with my FF stud is I took off his liver so I wouldn't have to worry about it.BlueJumpingBean 28718

I think what BlueJumpingBean means is that he took off his boys frame. People usually do that to their FF and I did so to mine. But he has some more work to get done though.
