13.1-14.0 Oh wow! Dorris is actually smiling. She sure likes your horse. What a keeper your prospect must be. She even talks to you when you are dismissed. Just wow!
14.1+ Sweet Merciful Mr. Ninjas! Dorris is congratulating you on how nice your horse is. Can I buy that horse off you? No really. I mean it. Please? Oh look she is dismissing you and shaking your hand. You lucky son of a mare!De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

@kintara The best part about the revamp is that it is so much easier to manage now. No more trying to keep track of generations and who pairs with who. Every month, on the 5th, after breeding them, I pull all my mares out of the pasture and refresh them to get their AFPT. Top 100 go in one pasture, next 200 go in a different pasture and the leftovers get culled. Then the third 100 pasture is the new, 4 year old mares. Top 100 mares get my two strongest, proven studs and one up and coming stud. Second string gets a similar set up, with my lesser studs. The 4 year olds get one really strong stud and two unproven studs. My studs are all AGA as each other, so it's not that big a variation.
It seems to be working. I'm getting roughly 75-80 mares passing Breeding Advice each year. I don't SBA my mares, BA is good enough to make forward progress, SBA leave me with too few survivors to have a nice strong mare herd. Studs get SBA'ed and I have 4-5 each year.
I might cut down to 200 mares, including the new 4 year olds. To make room for my new Era 3 and Era 5 lines.Thanked by 1kintara -
Mine are still even generations, but realistically after about gen6/7/8 I don't seem to achieve anything so I like the way you are doing it!
-
Awesome! So glad things are going well that route. May I ask what pt you got with your one guy?
p.s. If you decide to sell mares I would be interested in a few.All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps. -
Which one guy?
I do have a few surviving mares from my recent cull. I SBA all my culled mares, but a few make it through that process intact. 21 of them survived this year. I can throw them in the next auction, if people are interested. They are unevenly bred, some more so than others. -
The guy you posted the picture for. It won't let me see his page. He is gorgeous!
I would definitely be interested, especially if there are an more solid black based duns. I am struggling with even line quality, but I have about 30-40 uneven gold fillies from my bootstrapping project that I am so excited to have age up eventually. All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps. -

Awe, my barns are too full of auction foals right now. Do auctions let people bid on horses when they have overfull barns till auction ends? All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.

She is 13.8.
I can wait to put the mares in the auction until later in the week.
If you want to take a look at them, the mares in question are currently in my primary barn.

Wow. 13.8 is amazing! All into high quality black based primitive duns and bootstraps.
