Papering Differences?
-
Can anyone tell me the differences and levels between the paper colours and letters, please?
-
I'll be glad to.
For Stallions:
Showable Only
C (average foundation)
B (2nd gen, exceptional producer foundation)
A
*Star
For Mares:
Failed
Yellow (many foundations)
Red (a fair number of foundations, 2nd gen)
Blue
*Gold
With the full range of testing, it is easy to get A papered stallions by the third generation. It can take several generations beyond that to reach *Star, although some of the players who are most strict at culling expect to reach it by 4th or 5th. Success in doing that depends on being very, very strict with neutering your mares.
A Perfect Foundation stallion or mare will have a 100% breeding ability. The stallions always paper C, but it is a high C. Mare papering for Perfect Foundations will depend on the stallions they are bred to. Most will paper Red, but a goodly number will paper Yellow.
After this, the exact percentage ranges for the other papers are known only to Ammit and the program.
De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
