The ranks are numbered for how common or uncommon the gene is. They will appear as a Daily Herd Helper, (DHH or HH) then some ranks are Specials, they are usually given to us by the owner of the game, Ammit, as surprises around holidays. Right now were are in the 12 Days of Christmas, Rank Specials. Some Ranks have Perfect Foundation, or Exceptionally Perfect Foundations. The ExPerf's don't come along as much, and have a higher Rank number. I might be a little off on my explanation, you might ask about Ranks in the Help section. SandyCreek, Cheers or ConfleuenceFarms might have a better explanation than I did.
