Extra special contest - FINISHED -Winners Announced
-
Ok, for those of you who don't know me. I use to run a few comps regularly and I have't been overly active on the forums of late.
Sooooooooo I thought I would reintroduce myself by running an extra special comp.
I am currently stuck at home with a chest infection so I am going a bit spare and have a lot of time on my hands LOL
There will be 4 winners:
1st Place- GMT overload
2nd Place - Couple of genes
3rd Place - HOM gene
4th Place - HET gene
The genes will be added to your horse as the come out, my choosing. If you get 1st or 2nd place and are happy to leave your horse alone for a season or two, then you could end up with a some extra special genes. I will let you know when I have stopped adding genes.
What I need from you:
Your name and ID
Your answers
Your GMT project (May I suggest you start with a foal)
What genes you are hoping for...NOT GUARANTEED
Anyone can enter this competition and I ask that there be ONLY 1 ENTRY per person. Don't enter multiple accounts, that is cheating...and run the risk of being disqualified.
So lets get started...
For those of you that know me, all my contests are Draft related. I love all things big and floofy lol
My questions & hints, may have multiple answers...You just have to go with which one you think is right. I can't make it too easy for you. Hint: No two answers will be the same...
The winners are chosen by me by those who put the correct answers in first and how you answer question 10 (I'm bored and happy to read about horse breeds lol). The competition will run until midnight 30th March.
1. Norway
2. Only comes in Dun Shades
3. Worlds Tallest Horse of all time, name, breed & height
4. Old Granny
5. Brittany Horse
6."White Marble Horse"
7. Carlsberg Brewery
8. leopard draft horse
9.There are more Percherons in ....... than any other country
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? (Doesn't have to be a draft)
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE, have fun :)
Please don't change your answers once they are down. I will be making a spread sheet of everyones answers as I go. -

My bf loves drafts, so we're always talking about them, so. I learn a lot all the time. :D
1) Dole (Dolahest). (?)
2) (Don't know if it's draft, but) Fjord. (?)
3) unknown.
4) unknown. (I learned this, but I hear so many different things about other "old granny" things. Lol. I forget.)
5) Breton. (?)
6) unknown.
8) Am. Sugarbrush. (Learned about these on Facebook as someone painted a model after one. Such pretty horses!)
9) (I'm not too sure, but I'm gonna wildly guess, as I hear a lot about drafts and the country/surrounding countries)... France or somewhere nearby. (I know, that last part isn't acceptable, but hey! Lemme have my fun. LOL (?)
10) I think my favorite breed would be miniature horses. They're so cute, and often friendly little demons. No, that doesn't make sense... But it's like... they wanna be friendly, but they wanna be boss, too. They're like the cats of the equine world. But I also love fjords. Beautiful little creatures. Shire horses are also super lovely with their temperament, and looks. And who could forget the lovely floofy feathering? Dreamy.
(I'll link the fella)
I'm hoping that DP, KP, or SNF comes out soon, so he can get them all in Hom form.
01 Mushroom GMT
I'm also creating a silver bay foal for my bf, hoping SB1 or SB2 comes out soon for Hom of either. My bf only wants Sabino, so if won, and you can't do SB 1 or 2, just do whatever on the other, (hopefully minus fantasy genes). I'm picky. I'm sorry. =))

9: More Percherons in The U.S
10: My favorite horse breed is the Quarter Horse. I love them for the quickness, intelligence, and just overall beauty. As a western rider they encompass everything I look for.
I haven't decided what to put on her yet. A surprise would be ok.

genes i want (a combination of any of these genes- go crazy!) ice 10, satin, nacre, white 10, any axiom genes, DP, or chinchilla.
1. Norway- Dolehest. I originally put fjord, but after more research I came to the conclusion that dolehest is the better option.
2. Only comes in Dun Shades- fjord
3. Worlds Tallest Horse of all time, name, breed & height- "Big Jake". 11yo Belgian draft gelding. he is 20 hands :)
4. Old Granny- American cream draft horse. she was the foundation mare for the line ;)
5. Brittany Horse- breton horse
6."White Marble Horse"- Boulonnais
7. Carlsberg Brewery- jutland horse
8. leopard draft horse- Sugarbush..?
9.There are more Percherons in ....... than any other country- USA
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? (Doesn't have to be a draft)- oooh... i love loud colors, so it would have to be a toss up between Knabstruppers and Shire horses (shires are giant teddys, knabs are stunning).
Thanked by 1Goobanni -
Such a fun contest! I hope I am not stepping on toes if I toss my name in the pot! I am TheFoggyMoors ID 49519. I am honestly not sure exactly what GMT project I would do but have drooled a lot over the lovely chinchilla ponies recently. There was a stunning one posted somewhere that had chinchilla and snowflake and WOW talk about a showstopper! I definitely would love to create a cob type chinchilla/snowflake/roan project at some point for sure.
1. Dole Gudbrandsdal is my best guess for this one as there are several in Norway
2. Fjord- those little farts are the cutest things with their manes!
3. Sampson the shire- he stood 21.2 1/2 hands (also the heaviest of all time too)
4. American Cream draft- looove those guys and I WILL own one in my life!
5. This one had me think for a minute but I want to say Breton.
6. Boulonnais- another of my bucket list breeds to own
7. The majestic and yet slightly dopey looking Jutlands :-)
8. American Sugarbush Harlequin Draft (totally guessing this one not going to lie)
9. United States- Interestingly enough percherons were once considered in danger of extinction by the end of WWW2 but luckily a few dedicated breeders managed to preserve this wonderful breed. Yet another bucket list breed.
10. There is something about a draft horse butt that makes me go all weak kneed and swoon but I am a sucker for quarter horses hands down- I love their versatility and temperament as well as the ability to specialize in a discipline but still have fun in other events. I used to show AQHA and my show string were some of the steadiest no-nonsense ponies that absolutely knew their jobs in the ring but total goofballs outside. They just had that uncanny ability of knowing of when it was time to turn up 110% and when they could ease up. That said, I will never, never, NEVER put my butt on a cutter :-)) There is just something about them that makes me... twitchy. I don't know why! They are the sweetest in your pocket type of ponies but they. just. make. me. twitchy. Bless their hearts. Absolute champs though and the way they get down and dirty with those cows is just wow!
Anyway thank you for this contest! I had fun doing this and remembering little tidbits and factoids that I had picked up over the years (and everyone told me it was useless for trivia well guess what Karen who's laughing now? LOL)! Good luck to the rest and I look foward to seeing everyone else's answers, especially for number 8 and 1!Thanked by 1Goobanni -
I'll play! Not Sure if I'm doing this right or not so correct me if I'm wrong.
1. Fjord?
2. Przewalski?
3. Big Jake, Belgian, 20.3 hands I have actually met him several times!
4. American Cream Draft?
5. Breton?
6. Boulonnais?
7. Jutland
8. Sugarbush Harlequin Draft
9. France
10. I partial to the Quarter Horse! Mostly for the fact that aside from an occasional appendix ( quarter and thoroughbred cross) it's all I've ever been around. Growing up I showed in a variety of events from western pleasure and english to several rodeo events, and working cow horse. I had one gelding in particular who could all of the above, and do them exceedingly well! He knew what we were going out to do each day by his tack. He'd be a mellow guy but as soon as the splint and bell boots came out he knew it was time to pick up the pace! He was and will always be irreplaceable to me.

1. Norwegian fjord horse
2. Fjord horse
3. Sampson, shire horse, 21.2 1/2 hands
4. Norse mythology, Grani is a horse owned by the hero Sigurd. He is the horse that Sigurd receives through advice from the Norse god (Odin). Grani is a descendant of Odin's own steed, Sleipnir
5. The Breton is a breed of draft horse. It was developed in Brittany, a province in northwest France, from native ancestral stock dating back thousands of years. The Breton was created through the crossbreeding of many different European and Oriental breeds. In 1909, a stud book was created, and in 1951 it was officially closed. The breed is often chestnut in color, and is strong and muscular. There are three distinct subtypes of the Breton, each coming from a different area of Brittany
6. The Boulonnais, also known as the "White Marble Horse", is a draft horse breed. It is known for its large but elegant appearance and is usually gray, although chestnut and black are also allowed by the French breed registry. Originally there were several sub-types, but they were crossbred until only one is seen today.
7. One hundred and sixty-five years after it first started carting out barrels of beer, the international brewery giant Carlsberg still has a stable of beautiful and very rare Jutland horses that walk the streets of the Danish capital of Copenhagen every day.
8. American harlequin sugarbush draft horse
9. United States accounts for over 70 percent of the Percheron population
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? Thoroughbred, I love watching horses run flat out as fast as they can, do watching a thoroughbred run in a pasture or race is very fascinating to me

1. Norway - The Dole Gudbrandsdal, Dølahest or Dole is a draft, and harness, type horse from Norway.
2. Only comes in Dun Shades - The Fjord is an agile breed of light draught horse build. All Fjord horses are dun in colour, with five variations in shade recognised in the breed standard.
3. Worlds Tallest Horse of all time, name, breed & height - At 210.2 cm (82.75"/~20hh), Belgian gelding Big Jake stands as the world's tallest horse.
4. Old Granny - American Cream Draft Horse. 'Old Granny' the first known American Cream, appeared at a farm sale in Story County, Iowa, in 1911
5. Brittany Horse - The Breton is a breed of draft horse. It was developed in Brittany, a province in northwest France. The Breton was created through the crossbreeding of many different European and Oriental breeds.
6."White Marble Horse" - The Boulonnais, also known as the "White Marble Horse". It is known for its large but elegant appearance and is usually gray, although chestnut and black are also allowed by the French breed registry.
7. Carlsberg Brewery - The Jutland horse is a draft horse breed originating in Denmark, named after the Jutland Peninsula which forms the western part of the country. Some of the best known members of the breed pull beer wagons for the Carlsberg brewery around Copenhagen, as well as at competitions and for demonstrations.
8. leopard draft horse - American Sugarbush Harlequin Draft. Any base color is acceptable, with LP pattern or characteristics being preferred, but not required if the horse meets all the other bloodline or conformation requirements . Solids are acceptable.
9.There are more Percherons in ....... than any other country - United States
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? (Doesn't have to be a draft) - Appaloosas are my absolute favorite breed. It started out 8-9 years ago when i first met the mare i own now. It was my second year of riding and i was terrified of her (a gorgeous leopard appy) the first time i was to get on her. Literally 5 minutes later we were galloping around the ring like we had done it a million times. She was the first horse i bonded with. I became obsessed with the breed. They are so incredibly versatile, not to mention gorgeous with all those spots! They are widely used in almost every equine related sport, western and english, and there is even an Appaloosa breed racing association (fun fact: an Appaloosa holds the all-breed record for the 4.5 furlongs (3,000 ft; 910 m) distance, set in 1989). I love their overall confirmational look as well as the various patterns and colors they can come in. Some are solid while some, like my mare, are completely spotted! They are typically a one person type of breed so when you bond with one you know its special. When you have a flashy appy you are sure to be remembered in every competition :) They have the best personalities and are typically so willing to learn if taught correctly. I could literally go on forever. My mare was the one who sparked my love for appys and i am beyond blessed that after 8 years of not seeing her and believing i never would again, i own her and get to see her in my back yard every day!

1. Norway - I prefer the Norwegian Fjord, but considering the next question, you likely wanted the Dole horse, or Dolahest. lol
2. Only comes in Dun Shades - Fjord
3. Worlds Tallest Horse of all time, name, breed & height - now it's Big Jake the Belgian, but ever was a Shire named Sampson who was 21.2 1/2 hands high.
4. Old Granny - founding horse of the American Cream Draft
5. Brittany Horse - aka Cheval Breton or the Normandy horse.
6."White Marble Horse" - Boulonnais Draft, which is almost always grey, like the Lipizzan.
7. Carlsberg Brewery - competition and show team of Jutland drafts.
8. leopard draft horse - I would argue it's the Knabstrupper, many of which have draft characteristics, but many would say American Sugarbush Draft. The Gypsy horse also can be leopard, but then again I'm pretty sure Gypsies come in every color. Lol
9.There are more Percherons in the US than any other country.
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? My favorite breed is, without a doubt, the American Mustang, preferably from a more isolated HMA with strong Spanish blood. I've known some spectacular pedigreed Spanish Mustangs, but I've known some awesome wild caught ones too. Mustangs tend to always have stronger bone and hooves than domestic horses, tougher constitutions, and I always found them to be very smart.
The horse I would want modified is:
1 br1 Dixie Cup GMT ME
As for how I'd want her changed, I'm easy with fairly simple tastes. Lol The notes on her info are what I was considering doing with her. I'm not a fan of nacre or plaid, I try to avoid the more lethal kit genes, and the only ice gene I really want is that rainbowy vertical refraction one that reminds me of a transporter beam. :\"> I'm a fan of duns, especially brown dun, and I love ND1. I also enjoy appy, kit M, and sabino 2, but I love a nice dappled up horse with DP and no "bling" at all, too. :D~*~ Justa ~*~

4. Founding horse of the American Cream Draft breed
5. Breton horse
6. Bulonnais horse
7. Jutland horse
8. many would say the American Sugarbush Harlequin draft, but I'm going to go more obscure and guess the Sendera Draft!
9.The US
10. I am fascinated by Mongolian horses. How the domestic herds continue to be bred by herdsmen while still interbreeding with and maintaining the characteristics of the feral population is such a cool breeding model!
This guy is my current GMT project. By the time I am finished, he will definitely have at least heterozygous satin, a copy of nd1, and at least heterozygous gp, kp, and snf. The rest is really up to the RGS. He might have some ices (hopefully ice 6), and have some sort of fancy kit gene (kit M maybe?) Macchiato would not hurt my feelings either! My least favorite genes are the rainbow riot series and wrong warp.

Runner up is Sampson the Shire, 21 1/2hh, uh...4000 lbs?
4. Who was the foundation mare of the American Cream Draft Breed?
5. What is another name for the Breton horse? (comes in three subtypes, apparently - lighter for undersaddle, midweight for harness work, heavy for argicultural work
6. Horse restrained by a groom by Guillaume Coustou (okay, so it's not a draft breed, but I'm sure Costou drew drafts before sculpting it...) http://www.visual-arts-cork.com/sculpture/guillaume-coustou.htm
7. Jutland Draft
8. Elmer Line of Norikers
9.There are more Percherons... So, I was going to try to come up with a unique answer by calculating pecherons per capita of US, Canada, Britain, and France...but I can't actually find the number of percherons in the US. The three I can find, Britain has 4.51 percherons for every million people, Canada 13.19, and France 74.42. With the US's population of 327.2 million, there would have to have around 24,540 percherons to have 75 percherons per million people.
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? Hard to pick a favorite, but probably the connemara pony. Those little critters have hearts of gold and balls of steel (even the mares), and can jump things that would make some warmbloods do a doubletake.
Thank you for this - I have learned a lot about drafts trying to find fun answers to the questions! (Edit due to runaway italics, no answers changed.)
I have been dying for a silver chinchilla, but I also wouldn't turn down Axiom blue.

1. Dolehest as it is the only other draft breed originating in Norway besides the Norwegian Fjord.
2. Norwegian Fjord?
3. Sampson/Mammoth who was the tallest and heaviest of horse in history was a gelded shire horse standing at 21.2 1/2 hands (86.5 inches) and weighing in at 3,360 lbs. If you want the tallest horse currently living, Big Jake the Belgian Gelding horse stands 82.75 inches and weighs 2600 lbs.
4. The Mother of the American Cream Draft breed. Old Granny is honestly a very cute and endearing name at least to me because it summons up images of sweet old ladies sitting on the porch next to their flowers or little old Grannies lovingly making apple pies with their grandchildren. Boy, I miss my Granny.
5. Breton draft Horse
6. I assume you're talking about the Boulonnais which is an endangered horse breed originating in France *They're soooo pretty* unless you actually meant a horse statue/figure chiseled from marble.
7. Carlsberg Brewery uses Jutland Draft horses to pull their dray (cart or trucks used to transport beer kegs). Coincidentally the Jutland Breed is another rare horse breed. I think the fact that Carlsberg Brewery still uses draft horses and a cart to deliver beer is a endearing antiquated method of promoting the Carlsberg Brand. How many other breweries out there still do this? Just thinking about it summons up old timey images of the large, patient drafts bearing carriages.
8. Sugarbush Harlequin Draft. Oooh I love how beautiful these horses and their lovely spots are. Oooh. I want a horse in game that replicates its appearance now.
9.The United States of America
10. Right now I love the Gypsy Vanner horse breed. Not only does it come in sooo soo many different lovely colors and patterns, it has large fluffy "feathers" on its legs which remind me of wispy trailing clouds. It stands regally as its untamed mane blows in the wind on a warm summer day. The breed's name "Gypsy" even reflects the freeness of spirit and elegance which embodies the breed.

10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? (Doesn't have to be a draft) My current favorite is the Welsh pony. They are small, hardy little guys who love people, and love to work. Often when I go to up to the gate I’m met by several ponies. They have amazing personalities, every one of them is unique. From the slightly standoffish mare to the friendly gelding that sticks his face in the halter before you can get to your original choice(that actually happened to me). They always love to work, whether their work is giving kids rides, or chasing cows they are always eager and enthusiastic. Which is why I like them so much.
I’d love for this guy to have Macchiato, I also like ice 9, 13, and wrong warp. My least favorite genes are the rainbow riot series.

7. Carlsberg Brewery " Carlsberg" horse
8. leopard draft horse Knabbstrupper! (My old obsession)
9.There are more Percherons in ....... than any other country United states
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? (Doesn't have to be a draft).
I actually think that is a surprisingly difficult question. If I am being loyal, and respectful of the horses I have owned I would have to say paint horses. They are your traditional quarter horse, that is your honest hard-working cow horse on the weekdays that the backbone of America was built on. Your family mount on the weekend. Sturdy, dependable, and fast when needed, but usually quite calm (My roping friend had his stallion cover a mare in the morning, then loaded him in the trailer with other mares, and took him to a roping. And let me ride him when I was only 9 years old). If needed they will try their heart out, and leap over obstacles if needed. They have your back on a grumpy cow. But, paint horses have more modern spice on top of that. They obviously have some color to them (literally) so that almost no two are the exact same. With some of the new crop out thoroughbreds you get some nice jumping horses. Even better than most people would suspect. My girl is APHA with her dam being registered jocky club. She is big bodied, but is 17hh! I've been asked before if she was a warmblood. She jumps beautifully, but I have even taken her in a ranch riding class before! Whatever crazy thing I want to try for she is happy to do, and sometimes I suprise even myself with how successful we are. We've competed in upwards of 10 different events, but can also calm down, go for a trail ride, and haul me up a mound of dirt at least 2x our height!
However, I also have to give a shout out to my friend Ronni's clydesdales. She had one that was 20hh! Although her "old reliable" (whom was only 2 a few years ago when they bought her) is closer to 16.2 She is the more traditional trype, but she is just an amazing horse. She picked up driving AND riding like she had already had years of experience already! Not only did she not require any training from a human, but she didn't get any from other horses either, because Ronni had not bought a single older horse (well actually she died before we could start the others), so Kismet had to figure it out all by herself, and within 2 months she was showing the other horses what to do. If you said Gee, and the other one didn't listen (even if it was Turbo the 20hh one) she would SHOVE all of her weight pushing him around.
Then there's also the American Saddlebred. They are SO beautiful, and embedded in American history. (Guess who Paul Revere rode?) They are a blast to ride, and a lot of them are more behaved than I thought. IE, when I was only 12 years old I was allowed to ride a stallion. They rack pretty, jump, and drive!
Then NOT meaning any offense to anyone, I have never really been a fan of arabians. Or so I thought. I have met two in my life. Both ended up at my high school. One was severely dangerous, so I was the only one allowed to ride him. One day he made me SO mad, and I came unglued at him. That day marked a change, and I was bonded to him almost as much as my horses at home, even with riding him once every 2-3 weeks! He knew it was me, and we were in perfect striding for transitions, and I could guide him with just the weight of the reins. No added pressure. I was SO sad that horse left. And now we have another Arab at the school whom I enjoy quite a bit.
So.... Long story short. I do not believe in favorite breeds anymore. I believe in enjoying all of the individual horses that cross our lives. I would love to try out an Irish Draught horse (and a few mares as I want to encourage pure irish draughts), or a Knabstrupper. I would love to get a Clydesdale and double register her pinto. One day a Holsteiner will win in 3-day eventing. The next day an OTTB that was inches from death as he was about to get on the southbound slaughter truck.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

@SpryOfJune, I have yet to meet a Mini that doesn't think it is the boss of it domain :)) Actually I have yet to meet a mini (or goat for that matter), that doesn't instantly hate me =))
@Xceptional, Do you have a Western Speciality?
@MariaChapinFarm3, A person after my own heart... The "Louder" the horse, the better :x
@TheFoggyMoors, Of course you aren't stepping on anyone's toes. I also have so many little tid bits of trivia that just pop up on the most random of occasions LOL =))
@srauch23, You set it all out just fine. OMG you met Big Jake? I would die to own a horse that size. I'm sure it would cost a small fortune though LOL.
It's always hard to lose your "heart horse" :( At least there is always the wonderful memories :x
@jezmynespice1, Love the answer for number 4 :x
@AHayesHorses, Your mare is drool-worthy... I would love to have a pasture ornament like her :x I love her fuzzy winter coat.
@JustaSaddletramp, Hope you are feeling better today? Our Australian Brumbies are stunning as well. The brumbies tend to not have a lot of Spanish blood like the American Mustangs. They all look amazingly SOLID lol
@HTRanch, HAHAHAHA "Soccer Balls" I bet that would have been an interesting day for the vet =))
@FeldingFields, LOVING some of your answers... Great use of "thinking outside the box"
@RoseMorning, I think "Old Granny" is such a simple name but SO appropriate for that mare :)
I'm with you about the Gypsy horse... Although I think I would struggle with keeping the feathers clean LOL
@Timelessstars, Aren't all mares standoffish? =)) Nawwww, I have the image of the gelding sticking his face in the halter :x
@Dinascar, My first horse, that I learnt to ride on was Cyldie x Warmblood, he was a stubborn thing but I loved him so much.
@Maribo, Never heard of a Nordlandshest before. They have so many breeding regulations X_X You would think that a horse with fewer than 2500 remaining, it wouldn't matter if it the horses had "long stockings" or blue eyes.
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl, Absolutely agree with loving the individual horse and not the breed. :x

I think my mini mare is the only mini that isn't mean to anything, or terrified of stupid things. She only hates halters. She refuses to lead with a halter. But she'll lead with a dog collar perfectly. :)) She also learned driving super fast and super well. Took her like 2 days, and she didn't even spook at the heavy iron thing my step grandfather hooked to her and made her pull through gravel. It took her about two times to learn when we stopped, she had to stand still until I okayed her to go.
But her sire is a lil b-st-rd thing. And her grandsire (sire's sire) would run backwards kicking at us. And her dam was just a, witchy mare. :))
I have no idea where she came from, but she's special. She's also (I'm thinking) a chocolate Palomino, as she looks just like the het DP chocolate Palomino horses on here, and her grandsire (sire's sire) is a Palomino. Her sire is a black appy. Her dam is a flaxen chestnut. But my little girl looks to be chocolate Palomino, and she's got black appy spots on her butt, and her "horsey privates" are literally black and pink skin checkered. :))Love,
Chase ♡ -
@Goobanni I guess I am a little bit of everything type. :))
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl My cousin owned an American Saddlebred. Her full name was Flambouyant Lady High. We all called her Flam. And she was magnificent!

@Goobanni I am feeling better today, thank you! Still in the hospital, but not so miserable at least. Lol
I love brumbies too! I've never met one of course, being in Texas, but what I've seen of them online and on television is impressive. Natural selection breeds tough, strong horses every time! :)~*~ Justa ~*~

@Goodbanni haha true. Or at least they’re all standoffish in their own way. After that mare got to know me she decided I needed a bath while I was sorting brushes. She licked my from my fingertips to my shoulders. Scared the jeebies out of me when something warm and wet touched my arm. Then I was shocked I’d never had a horse lick me like that... My mare (a half sister to the licking one) doesn’t lick me, but she likes it when I fiddle with her lips. She meets me at the gate every time she hears my footsteps, she’s also started to recognize the vehicles I drive, so she leans her head over the fence when she hears them coming too.
-
@Goobanni I know what you mean about the Northlands. The funniest thing is that palominos and buckskins (borket in Norwegian) are allowed, but any double creams ("blåøyd hvit") are not ;)) But I love the color variety. There's even some silver in there.ID 108

I have a couple of project horses and which one I would put forward would depend on which slot I won (If I managed to win).
1. Norway – Dole is my guess. I only recently learned about this beautiful breed from following Matilde and her Friesian, Batman, on Instagram. Her new horse, Iver, was my first introduction to this breed.
2. Only comes in Dun Shades - Norwegian Fjord
3. World’s Tallest Horse of all time, name, breed & height – Sampson, Shire horse, 21.2 1/2hh
4. Old Granny – American Cream Draft. This one was difficult for me to find. DO NOT look up “Old Granny Horse” on Google! XXX X_X
(I was at work too!)
5. Brittany Horse - Breton
6."White Marble Horse" – Boulonnais. This is one I discovered only very recently as well.
7. Carlsberg Brewery - Jutland
8. leopard draft horse – Noriker is the first thing that popped into my mind but a peruse on Google shows me the lovely Sugarbush Harlequin Draft.
9.There are more Percherons in ....... than any other country – The USA apparently.
10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? – This is a difficult one. I agree with HUSG. I love individuals. When I was a little girl I dreamed of owning a Fell pony. That developed into a very healthy infatuation with Friesians and they will always get my heart beating a bit faster. But Thoroughbreds will always hold a special place in my heart. My heart horse was an OTT Thoroughbred. It was your typical heart horse rescue story. I was a moody teenager, he was a 4 year old scabbed, scarred, and terrified bag of bones that my trainer, at the time, rescued from the meat wagon. My trainer’s aggressive personality was too much for him to handle and she had a hell of a time working with him but he melted like butter for me. My parents scrimped and saved and bought him for me. I would sneak out at night to race with him in his field and sleep in his loafing shed. Our landlord was a 3 day eventer and a rider for the 2000 Canadian Eventing Team and she introduced us to that wonderful, crazy world. We had the whole wide world ahead of us and nothing could stop us. Fast-forward 2 years. My parents divorced and my mum very nearly killed herself working as much as she could so that I could keep him. Eventually the financial strain was too much and we had to let him go. She sold him to a dealer for $800, who later sold him to a well-known family in the area that trained horses for the movie industry. Their main trainer took him on as a Hunter prospect but passed away a few years later and all his horses were sold off by the family. I don’t know what happened to him after that.
I will forever love Thoroughbreds.

10. Tell me your favourite horse breed and why? (Doesn't have to be a draft)- My favorite breed is the Andalusian. For a few years I was able to own an older Andalusian mare and she made me fall in love with the breed. The was wonderful to handle on the gorund and willing to try anything. On the trail she was brave and was willing to face down dogs trying to chase us and our riding companions if we had any. She was the first horse my now husband rode. -
