I know some of you enjoyed watching my marestare cams of my mares foaling in previous years so wanted to share the link again! I have three mares on cam now, middle (Special) is looking closest, then left (Extra), and right (Ellie) is not doing much yet.

The ones on cam currently are two black tobianos that both likely carry splash also and a buckskin tobiano. They are all bred to my cremello splash stallion

Baby number 1 is here! Buckskin pinto colt with blue eyes born a little before 10am! He is in the middle if you want to watch him play lol

Are they full sized horses? Part of me feels they are, while they kinda look pretty small (mares).

They are all minis 34" or under. The mares on cam are 29", 32", and 30.25" :)

Your colt out of Special is currently playing with... his shadow? It is adorable. He shakes his body, stares at the shadow, then jumps at it. What a cutie.

Lol he is a character for sure! So ornery and playful, going to be sad when he moves off cam for the next mare but I guess I'll get to watch the next babies playing then lol

All my birthing experience is with dairy cows, but I'm assuming the same signs would apply right?
Waxy tits, loose vulva, general discomfort right?

Yep, same basic principles. Not all mares wax before foaling though but generally get a full udder at least. There are those rare exceptions that like to be sneaky and throw the book out the window lol

Lol yeah I think you get ones like that in all species
Like how we have a cow who has looked like she's 23 months pregnant since she was 3 years old lol
Cows are only pregnant for 9 months so you can imagine how large she is
But when she's close to calving she gets ridiculously lopsided
Then you gotta wait another month till she calves lol

Babies! I checked on them last night, and this morning (I'm in Norway, so probably way off your "last night" and "this morning"), and the one in the middle (Special?) is in the exact same place, exact same position as last night :P

Must be your eyes lol. Still only 2 at my place but mom had a buckskin pinto colt too lol. Moved the mare that hasn't foaled to the middle so she is easier to watch :). Tomorrow I might really mix it up if mom decides to bring a couple of her mares over for me to foal out lol

Yep Ellie foaled. She was a bit dramatic about her cramping after but had banamine to help her relax. Some mares seem to react more to the cramping after than others. The filly has mastered nursing while she is laying down luckily.

It’s Sunday evening here, 19:30 Central Time. I just watched the same middle (dark) mare walk about twenty circles in a row. That baby is going to be dizzy!

She occasionally stops to scratch her belly or her foot. I am impressed at her athleticism and agility while this far along. Please tell her thank you for the entertainment!

How are you guys able to see anything? All I get is a Black screen with the time saying 0:00 out of 0:00? I love seeing mother horses give birth to little babies, it makes me so happy. ;;)

Lol, yes pearl has always paced when stalled, always joked about her race track in her bedding lol! It was more unusual that she didn't pace when she first came in lol. I wish she would just foal so she can go out with the other mares and foals in pasture lol

The one on the right looks closest, the other two don't look quite ready yet but doesn't take them long sometimes to have that sudden change

Pearl is making sure she reaches her daily step goal for her fitness tracker ; ) She moved off camera a few minutes ago, and lol she was still more active than her napping neighbors. I thought my feed had frozen until I saw her tail swish and her cute little head poked back into the frame. Now it looks like everyone is resting.

I gave her extra hay, which her fat body doesn't need, but it's keeping her busy so she is at least pacing less!

I took a peek at the cam around 1:30 AM. Both neighbors are snoozing. Pearl is scratching her butt on the wall and making hilarious faces. She is such a character.

I thought Pearl had a sleeping baby in her stall, too. Then, the dust mote floated away from the camera, and I realized it was a pile of poop : P
