White Factor
-
How is white factor inherited in the game?
Seems like foals are more likely to inherit “minimal” if one or both parents has it?
Thanks :)| #59142 | Spotted | Reiner | Chocolatey | Enchanting | Stygien | Lunara | -
I searched and searched for an answer to this a little while ago and from what I could gather, it's random. I'm happy to be corrected though :))Thanked by 1Cottonwoods

It's inherited from the parents and some genes can increase or decrease it.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

I'm going to try to take a stab at this as I understand it. Community please correct me where I'm wrong.
White factor at it's most simple level in the game is how much dna has been damaged by turning white. I don't know how this relates to real genetics because I don't know real genetics. But it does mean parents can give up to all of theirs.
So we will get foals that won't make it by WF.
Things like splashes and kit genes and even some dilutes add to the number, and darkening genes tend to make it stay still.
I don't know the math cause I didn't write the program, but if I want most of my horses to express in the minimal range it's best if my foundations are none.
This is the most recent WF chart link, but w20 has been changed to have less impact.

Thanks for the info @seaswell and good to know it can potentially be influenced by choosing parents with certain genes/wf
