Is it possible to breed up to a PT of 15?
-
I'm using some boosted *** 15+pt stallions. I'm getting a lot of 14's now.
I'm told I cannot get *** w/o boosting. Bummer, but ok. :D
It's just so fun watching my PT scores come up. I'm also now mostly getting ** horses, which is awesome.
(And a HUGE thank you to those awesome breeders who allow me to use their stallions! You have truly elevated my program!)

Both those parents are double boosted. :)>- Boosting is required for 15 pts.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.

@zencorgi Can you use embryos? I’ll send over a couple from the pair that gave me my 15 PT baby if you want. Implanting in mares with a pasture bonus will improve your chances, and all should be able to be maxed to 15 if they come out lower.

@BoredCowgirl thank you so much! I don't max, but every horse close to 15 is amazing! I'm starting to mostly do implants from my pasture recips and it's been great.
Gracie gave me a custom *** 15pt stallion and he's been incredible!
I also have some of your horses in my program and love them!

I just sent you a handful of good pairings that should get you up there pretty close to 15 if you use mares with the pasture bonus. Good luck with them! ❤️

Hiya here’s a rundown:
Both horses must be double boosted to produce 15 PT. You can not produce a 15 PT foal without both parents being double boosted
Assuming you have the above criteria, you can then make embryos and implant them into 30+ day pasture mares. Without maxing, this is the most likely way to hit 15 PT. However, consistency being not perfect or luck of the draw can also lower PT, so it’s not guaranteed without maxing.
You can not get above 15 PT unless it is a cloned horse. You would need to clone a 15 PT horse and then you run the chance of getting an over 15 clone. However, often clones are still 15, so you may need to clone multiple times to get over 15.
And finally, please remember that PT does not actually mean anything as far as quality of the horse. **star/gold horses at breeding cap can be 15 PT or they can be 13 PT or even lower. They will all produce the exact same. Some of my top quality ***star/gold double boosts are under 14 PT due to being new lines, and if you take a look, many of the foals are 15+ PT since the parent PT doesn’t mean anything for breeding.Continuing my reign as the most annoying player on the forums and hgg’s favorite butch lesbian cowboy

@VenemousGiant
Thank you for the rundown. I, too, have had horses with lower pt produce really well. I understand that PT is the showing part, and ** are the breeding part. I'm just trying to improve on both. :D
I have to challenge myself. But knowing I can't get *** and/or 15 pt w/o boosting makes my game easier, because I know the actual limitations of the way I play the game.
I so enjoy this community!

PT isn’t showing- it’s potential training, so how long they can train for. You’ll find plenty of horses well below 14 PT show amazing! I tend to have most of my show ponies in the 13 range, personally. I’m getting close to 600k daily bonus, so I can say it works, haha. Also, to clarify, if you have double boosted horses already, you can hit 15 pt foals, but they still will only be ** and the same as any other breeding cap ** horse. Boosting doesn’t change PT of the horse, just the foals it produces. I did look and see that you have a stallion that’s ***, and I’m assuming a double boost since he’s a clone- so breed him with double boosted mares and you can absolutely end up with 15 PT foals.
To simplify my own programs, I decided to not pay attention to PT too much since it doesn’t mean a horse will breed or show poorly. A lot of folks like 15 PT in their pedigrees, and it’s more a personal choice or aesthetic than a necessity. My most award winning horses are in the 13 range and double boosts, so they may not look as fancy number wise as others but they perform fantastic. And the resulting foals are 15 PT, so their parents PT didn’t make a difference.
I think a lot of folks get caught up in PT numbers, which can be misleading and confusing when it comes to breeding programs. The best way to have horses that show well is to have bulk, and pasture breeding is your best friend for that. I put a lot of natural breeding cap mares in my pastures and use them for show pony generation. They end up around 12-14 PT usually. Higher PT doesn’t necessarily mean your horses will out perform lower PT ones in shows, so these pasture horses will do fine. Same way consistent horses and inconsistent doesn’t mean “good” and “bad” at showing, PT isn’t as cut and dry.Continuing my reign as the most annoying player on the forums and hgg’s favorite butch lesbian cowboy

Thank you! I probably should start keeping my high 12's again, then...lol. I'm making 264k and I literally spend it immediately. I'm glad I'm not this bad with money IRL. I have so many I want to GMT, and now I need to save for another 1k barn. Hard to do when I'm spending all my IV's on gmt's.
I'm about to list a bunch of RS, that will help for a brief time, hopefully. But, I'm happily making progress and learning and, most importantly, having fun!
