This December we are very excited to offer the East Bulgarian as our BC of the season. This will be a medium-weight BC available to unlock or via BC subscription. Since it is our first winter living in Bulgarian we thought this would be a really fun way to celebrate. The Bulgarian is not out yet, but I wanted to share it before GE sign-ups started.

The East Bulgarian was founded in the 1890s after Bulgaria was liberated from the Ottoman Empire. They needed a calvary mount so the state stud set to work crossing Arabian and Thoroughbred stallions with native mares to create a fast and agile war horse. In the 1950s with horses no longer needed for war the breed started incorporating Trekhener and Hanoverian stock with the aim of creating a sporting breed. These days they are primarily used for jumping and dressage.


Normally we try and put out three new BCs every winter, but the changes required to the generator have been immense. Instead, we decided to put out one we are really proud of and focus on some much-needed shading improvements to several of the older BCs.
