What genes cause this "ginger" colour?
-
Hey everyone,
I got this girl from a HH a some time ago and so far, she's been the only Bay/Buckskin in my herd that has this type of "ginger" coat.
A02 Sail Away
I'd love to recreate it, but I don't know what causes this colour, so I figured I'd ask you.
I thought it was the Cr and Sty combo, but playing around with the search function didn't help. I only found a handful of horses that somewhat matched mine but I didn't find a certain pattern in the combination of genes that I could point at and say: That's it!
Maybe I overlooked something, though. Or maybe it's a hidden gene or maybe even just a randomised factor? -
Just that specific gene combination. No one gene is causing it.
Here is a search of similar horses

Ah, nice, thanks! <3 (Must've done something wrong using the Search, then, LOL.)

If you want something more consistent for shading you could try adding in grey and maybe grey reduction. Otherwise it's mostly random coming from the cream on bay.
