Buying genes, do I have this correct?
-
I want to make a foundy homo for satin. I need to buy this gene twice for this horse to accomplish this, correct?
I haven't bought/applied genetic changes and want to make sure I do it correctly. Thanks! -
Yes, Satin is recessive and requires two copies to show.

You want to buy the one that says "Both Strands" do you put the same strand in twice. (Though I think the system is smart enough to stop you from accidentally ordering it wrong these days)Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Yes, I love that it said 'both strands.' I managed to not f it up.
I was worried when I was reading the notes next to it about being able to overwrite the other strand. Thankfully, it is dummy, er I mean 'duven proof!' -
As another bit of feedback, folks generally use "hom" rather than "homo" for homozygous; "hom" and "het". "Homo" has connotations for being a slur for homosexuality
-
I use hom rather than homo because of that, but I would not personally fault anyone for using homo. It is generally the more accepted way to abbreviate homozygosity. :)Need to contact me? Fair point! That didn't even cross my mind.
I'm sorry if anyone took offense.
