Changing breeds

    I was obviously not paying attention and created a few horses of a breed I do not plan on breeding. Is there a way to change a national riding horse to a national sport horse?

    I don't see a way to do this but wanted to ask the group.

    I do see where you can change the breed on the control tab, but I understand that to be changing it to a personalized breed.

    I'll pay better attention next time for sure!

    Happens to all of us!

    It's a costly one if you must have the size.
    You can use a GMT to change the size (bone weight) in the gene mod lab under the control tab on the horses in question.

    You can always breed the riding horses to drafts to get your desired size (not always 100%). I do that from time to time. (warmblood breeder)

    Interesting! I guess I didn't realize that it was possible to produce a sport from other sizes. Maybe I'll play around with that for fun.

    I’ve done this an embarrassing number of times! If you can find someone that has the RS/HH you are wanting, they may be open to a trade as well.

    Breeding up and down in both height and bone is a lot of fun. A while back I started a line of the shortest and lightest riding ponies I could find with the plan to breed their offspring purely for weight and size, with the goal of eventually ending up with cap height drafts. I only barely got to warmblood before abandoning it, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted!

    This is what I appreciate about the game, the ability to set your own goals and see what you can do to get there. Then when you want, you can change goals and breed for something else.
    For the ease of my newbie brain I'm going to sell off my oopsies and replace them.
