Selling prices for horses under 2
-
So I've seen foal pricing range from 2500-200,000hbs and even more so I'm just wondering how to gauge a pricing. Does papering, PT score, family line, coat/patterning all have something to do with the pricing?
And what about yearlings and two year olds as well? -
Age doesn’t impact price a ton in my experience (unless they’re too old to breed that is)
Paper level if what I base all my pricing on, as well as some genes. More sought after or hard to find genes will typically fetch higher prices. When you see ones for 200k, those are most likely rank specials which will sell for around that depending on which one it is and the age (younger ones are more valuable since they can be GMTed into project ponies).
PT score and papering are the two biggest deciding factors when it comes to selling horses in my opinion. Though I’ve noticed even bred will go for a little higher than bootstraps.
The best way to figure out what’s a fair price for your horse is to search for any that are for sale with similar genes and paper level to yours and go from there. Eventually you’ll find a rhythm that works and know what to price yours at.Continuing my reign as the most annoying player on the forums and hgg’s favorite butch lesbian cowboy

Okie dokie, thank you for explaining this, there's so much thought that goes into making sales and I love it all :)

There really is! Sales, breeding, etc really can be very complicated. Which is what makes it fun :)) It took me a while to sort my pricing out, but eventually I figured out what my horses and lines sell at and now I don’t have to think quite as hard, haha. Feel free to drop me a private message sometime if you ever have any questions about stuff, my inbox is always open and I love to share game knowledge!
(Also check out my birthday post and go pick up a 1hb **gold/star pony and 1hb boosted breedings from my chat if you want ;) )Continuing my reign as the most annoying player on the forums and hgg’s favorite butch lesbian cowboy

Unfortunately, or fortunately, this game has a market that is decided by the players. So people skew the numbers all the time.
For instance: I will offer 50k-100k on herd helpers randomly because I don’t want to hunt for them. I just bought more than 20 perfectly awful horses for 50-60k a pop, so that skews the asking price upwards.
What you see on the foundations page isn’t necessary the guaranteed price you will get. Some members will pay a lot more for creates than they are technically worth. But also this time of year, a lot of super nice creates are sold super low because of the holidays and the GE.
When you first start out, it’s extremely confusing because there’s isn’t a set rate for anything. It is constantly fluctuating, just like the real life markets. Just because I paid $400k for a create today, doesn’t mean I will tomorrow.
But that means if you find somebody looking for something at the right time you can make bank. You can’t technically price anything incorrectly, unless it is super high. Like millions for a create. It’s more an issue of how fast you want to move the horses. -
GrungeBunny02 Thank you! Keep an eye out on there cause I’m going to do more pony giveaways etc over all of December. All are high papered and have fun genes so it’ll help give your herd a leg up :x happy holidays if you celebrate any, or just happy December!Continuing my reign as the most annoying player on the forums and hgg’s favorite butch lesbian cowboy
