I'm creating an HH for my giftee, but the default goes to my personal breed. I feel weird gifting them a horse that they can't make "theirs." How do I create a National breed after creating my own breed?

Once you have your breed, you can't create a national horse any more.
BUT there are a lot of users who can still create national breed horses so you could post a request for whichever helper and add a note that it has to be national breed. Or, if it's one of the special day ones, search in the auction for that herd helper and see if any are national breed.

Okay, good to know! I'll keep that in mind for the Special Days ones / ones I roll, and accept it for the ones I get on share. Thanks for clarifying / confirming!
