Question for anyone who has an uneven line for show ponies
  • I've started to create an uneven line in hopes of making some awesome show ponies.
However before I spend the time basically experimenting with a billion different crosses and waiting for those babies to be old enough to see how they do in shows I figured I would ask if anyone HAS an uneven line for good show ponies and what generation crosses (to start out) would be best. So far I've crossed a couple 2nd gen mares (only because I bred my higher generation girls already) with star papered 6th gen stallions and also bred one or two to an uneven 8th generation stallion. I dont know if this is pointless or not but I figured it would be a fun way to try and get some great show horses lol. If anyone has any experience or advice about the best way to go about it that they're willing to share I'd be very grateful!
  • I bred my first uneven line from my stallion Rising Vette. He is no longer in the game, but a lot of his offspring are. Some are on the Leader Boards for Highest Point Earners. But it took them until older to get there. And a lot of trial and error breeding to find which mares he had good show horses from.

I also have had good luck with my Ice stallion, UFamousStars BooBoo. He is still in the game. I accidently bred an uneven embryo. When he was old enough to breed, and I started getting good show horses from him, I bred his parents together again. That horse did not produce good show horses. So, it is more a roll of the dice if your intact uneven breeders will produce good show horses or not. BooBoo is a 4/5 gen. You can check his offspring. He is up for public breeding if you are interested.

You also might ask Abbey Road, I think she has a *Star* stallion that might be slightly uneven. My uneven *Star* stallion isn't old enough to breed yet.

  • I'm just starting to get the hang of it but my show line is bred from two 4th gen studs (that I got from Cheers and are up for public) to foundation mares and they throw amazing show babies that are super flashy too. I even manage to get a few fantastic studs to be every so often. My first A papered colt came from one of them. I have yet to experiment much with other gens though

I am very forgetful so if I owe you anything but am taking to long please send me a PM. I don't get on to play the game as often as I once did but I am usually most active during the 2nd and 3rd week of each month
  • Thanks guys I appreciate any advice I can get! Paints I bred to your boy and got this super cute filly I thought I'd share lol

  • Every horse or breeding could have the potential to be or produce a good show horse, whether even or unevenly bred. Doesn't make them better show horses just because they are uneven. Some horses just manage to level off in the right spot and make you good money/points! High PT horses will eventually get to the higher earning shows but they can take a while to get there so good to have a range of PT. I just keep all my non foundation spays and gelds for show ponies rather than specifically breed for horses to show. HJ1 has the old leaderboard lines of very high PT horses that would certainly be mixed generation, their lines can go back a very long way. I keep most of them for show horses simply because most are gelded/spayed LOL. But I usually leave the intact mares that way in case I want to breed them down the track. Those lines are often seen in the era0 LB on HJ1 but boosted even lines are often in there too now. I breed even generations simply because it gives me a bench mark to always improve on in their generation
