Voting has got me thinking- go vote yall!- about the new breed characteristics. So, I might be in a total minority here, but I really love the more 2D original horses vs adding the KD shiny spray like a lot of folks do. For me personally it’s easier to make out markings(I’m legally blind w limited vision lol) and I just think they’re so cute.
The new breed characteristics have that same kind of shading like the shiny spray does built in. Which personally puts me off of them just a bit. I would love to jump in the buying BC bandwagon, but I’m definitely feeling held back by that. To be clear, the art is gorgeous and I’m certain the majority of haj absolutely loves the shading! (I swear I am not trying to be insulting, y’all do So good!)
I wonder if there’s a way a tack pack can be added that removes or flattens the shading, or if BC can be like secondary released without the shading at some time?

Sorry, it is impossible to either flatten it with tack or to have alternative versions with different art. The way the layers work it isn't possible.

Thank you for the info Ammit! Bummer, guess I’m just gonna have to get used to it :)) there’s def some I’ll buy even with the new shading!

Yeah, I agree. The only thing I don't like about the new breed characteristics is the highlights. To me it looks a bit like a dull sheen over too much of the body, masking the color, especially darker colors and more detailed patterns. And the whole point of this game to me anyway is the colors we're breeding for. If the highlights could be a bit more concentrated and over a smaller area, I think they'd look perfect to me. I'm sure it's a balancing act too because the highlights and shading have to look good both on dark and light coats.

I only find is a problem on the foal linearts. I’m changing all of mine back over to normal foals because I literally can’t see what’s going on ^_^ once they age up it’s definitely a lot better.

But then again I’m very blind & light sensitive so meh.

Yeah, I definitely think the new art makes plainer coats look spectacular and more fancy coats a little difficult to see.

I also agree with venemous about the color. I love the idea of the different body types and I like the new variety and how they look overall, it’s just that if sometimes it overshadows what the color should look like.
I like the Suffolk Punch look for cobs though so I may get that one. And I am 100% going to get the Arabian BC when that one comes out!
