I am just wondering if it is me or has anyone else noticed that there seems like a competition for who can get the biggest amount for their horses.?
I am one that usually will pay a high amount for a horse i really want but i will not even go near those prices.
If they were GMTd it would be worth it. :-/
I am just wanting to know some of your opinions about this.

I've seen some of this too. Especially with pointed show horses. People placing them for 20k, when they should only be about 10.

I rarely put my horses up for sale, I usually just auction them, but if I do it tends to be a rank special and then I go off of what the average price is and round to the nearest 5 or 10. I can't speak for other people, but if someone did accidentally buy a horse for more than they wanted to (like above) then it will skew my own prices too

Yeah, there is a bunch of RS up right now for pretty crazy prices. Remember that you can vote that horses are priced too high on their page :)

But then they will put them down a bit cheaper and then you can't vote anymore. Should be a price cap on the horses because nobody is buying them at these prices.

Price voting works people just don't do it.

It makes no sense to have a price cap as people use horses as payment ponies.

That is true about price caps. Thanks for the reminder about voting. Maybe if enough people vote they will lower the prices.

Gotta say that I agree with the price voting, I've actually done it myself plenty of times. Although I am annoyed at myself for not realizing this afternoon that if I put up a payment pony, (especially a rank special) I should probably give it a name that says as much to avoid confusion! Looks like I just learn things the hard way! =))

Eh, if people do want their horses to sell, but they're not selling, putting the price down anyway tends to be a natural response. If you want something sold faster, drop the price, if you want something sold for more money, you have to be patient. It's why I have a sales barn, if something doesn't sell I know to either drop the price or geld/spey and biff into a show barn

I usually don’t give a hoot about people’s sale pricing, but since this post I took a look. The absolute tomfoolery in the public sales… y’all were not wrong. We def don’t need to intro that kind of stuff into the haj economy. 1–1.6 mil for rank specials? 30- 50k for regular plain experfs with no points? Same pricing for random creates? What is going on lately! I don’t often even sell my high PT **star/golds for as much as these creates were listed for.
I absolutely voted on all of that. I hope they get pulled down cause I really don’t want to see continued listing prices like this. No thanks. This game is hard enough to get started in, we don’t need this kind of stuff making it harder for folks.
I think like, putting things a bit high is one thing because eh maybe you don’t really want to sell them that bad- but this was just absolutely beyond that.

Makes me wonder if I should put some of the horses I'd usually auction up for cheap sale :-? Make people see more usual prices so they don't buy the hugely expensive ones. I can always auction them off when the barn gets full!

I generally just toss mine into auction. I can see charging a bit more for those RS's with special genes added (satin, kp, snowflake, etc) but not more than a gmt to add that gene would cost. No ungmt'd RS is worth 1mill, sorry.

I mist admit I had some serious sticker shock when I came back, but I also use the vote button (once I learned how they are usually priced.) I'm still finding some good deals, and I love the auction house for RS and finding my perfect leopards. I love my spots.

By the way, runaway pricing like this is why we have limits on publicly listing some genes. Imagine the boards being flooded with low-quality nexus horses listed for 1 million plus.

I wonder if the sale pricing going wild is related to the auction changes... Honestly, I don't put anything up for sale anymore, since it's more convenient to use the auction. I just toss regular creates in whatever the default auction is, and if I happen to have anything special, I put the minimum at something I can live with and/or put it up for 5 days. Then I don't have to think about the pricing and figure out what people are willing to pay.

I'm also stocking whole foundation pastures out of Foundation Rescue, which is pretty fabulous - there are SO MANY, probably still because of all the sea-pony-fishing. :-))

None of the other servers are having that issue so it is probably more to do with the specific community here than the auction.

@VenemousGiant I have stocked two pastures from foundation rescue! I love it. I also found two studs that I've been using to breed (I love some 2G show ponies and need to fill my barns!). It's such a great resource, and now it has B/RED rescues too!

I hope this post will make people think twice before putting up horses for outrageous prices. No beginner can afford these prices.

Noticed that the same person is putting up horses at high prices and if we have voted them down the first time we can't again.
They buy these horses cheap at auctions and sell high. I think looking for quick money. They don't even follow the price guide.

Wow that’s unbelievably rude. The system obviously makes sense but that is just some foolish stuff going on from that user and they’re probably taking advantage of us not being able to report again

I think that is maybe getting too emotionally invested over some prices. They already got their prizes permanently docked, and if another three users vote them down the prices will be permanently docked lower again. They aren't hurting you and it is very unlikely anyone is falling for those prices.

I’m not “emotionally invested.” :) Since they got docked already, they’re aware of the prices being inappropriate- I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be mildly annoyed about that and it point out that it is rude. It does open the door for other (especially newer) players to follow suit and for it to get out of hand, especially since folks will check to see what other horses are listed for before posting theirs- which is a pretty common practice.

I doubt they are attempting to be rude to other members. People seldom are. They will figure out appropriate pricing given enough time and feedback. I have no doubt.
