Working on GMTing one of my horses. She’s hom for Vrn, which says it promotes extra roaning in appaloosas. I’m unfamiliar with the varnishing genes. Will this eventually make her varnish out completely or will it stay as a “roan” look? Trying to figure out whether or not to pull it off. Also, does it need to be hom or het to have an effect?

Edit: did pull one copy off, I like how she looks with just the one instead. Still curious about how this gene works though
