I was looking at a post on Facebook about a horse, and this woman in the comments was literally saying, "You can't breed just for color! If you could, then palominos would be their own breed!" And someone mentioned that you could, simply by breeding a known cremello to a known chestnut and get a palomino. Clarified that cremellos have the cream gene, therefore making palominos possible. Someone else mentioned the American Cream drafts, pointing out, again, that you certainly CAN breed for color. And the original crazy lady commented back saying, "but those carry cream and champagne, NOT gold, and palominols carry gold, not cream, therfore you can't get a palomino from a cremello, nor can you specifically breed for it." =))
