East (roller)coaster
  • Hoping our Canadian friends are doing okay. The smoke hit down here today. I’m trapped in my house due to various health issues, and it’s making my kid sick too. Very fortunate that we own a nice air purifier I bought when COVID hit and central air to filter- even with them I’ve got massive headaches hitting and other stuff going on. Chronic illness and this smoke does n o t mix.
Going to probably spend most of my time trying to roll for sea ponies and continuing my shopping spree for GE and RAoG. Glad it’s hitting during a busy haj season so I’ve got something to do. Not looking forward to how long it’s going to last, though. How are the rest of the east coasters holding up? Is it bad where you are? Do you have any tips for making g it easier?

  • It's been bad all week where I'm at in western NY. My Mom ended up with Bronchitis from it. I have been wearing a mask outside and basically only going out if necessary. Tuesday and Wednesday it smelled like smoke out and was very hazy. Today wasn't as bad and hopefully things will improve more over the weekend.

It's just such a weird thing to experience.
  • It is super weird. The sky here is yellow and everything is smokey. I’m really concerned w health issues about getting hospitalized again so fingers crossed. I’m only going outside for a few seconds to put my dogs out and bring them in and that’s it.

  • I’m from western NY as well. I got the disadvantage of living in a 200yr old house and it was much worse in the house than it was outdoors. The barn was great so I kept my horse and cow in as they and my dog were my biggest worries and my dad and I planted in the garden and worked on my truck most of the day… We all took it easy as much as we could as there wasn’t a whole lot we could do other than keep the animals comfortable. I do hope those in Canada are safe as well as animals.
