MOA then Boosting?
-
Hi everyone! I’m just hoping someone can confirm if boosting does anything after maxing out? I know I’ve talked about this before, but can’t remember the answer now, and after doing it for the first time, I’m now second guessing myself.
Boost KCL Tilikum 2g
This is the boy in question, I maxed him out first and just now boosted him, but neither his paper or pt score changed (which I know is possible, but am now paranoid lol). I’d like to get this straight before continuing like this with the others. -
Boosting gives them the percentage on top of their maxed ability! So yes, it makes a big difference. I’m guessing he was on the lower end of *Star so it’s not bumping him up a level.Continuing my reign as the most annoying player on the forums and hgg’s favorite butch lesbian cowboy

@VenemousGiant oh good! So for sure it did do something even being moa’d, just can’t see it from our end? I had a colt that tested aga to him before boosting, but I didn’t think it through and switch him to a filly, so now I can’t test against him without spending two extra gmts

Oh my he is a beauty! If you're planning on putting him up for futurities, I might need 10 foals every season....
Back to the question at hand though, VenemousGiant is correct. The best way to get the "best" quality is to max out, and then boost. I haven't heard of this system being broken by anyone who can confirm so it should all be working as intended. Sometimes the gaps between the levels can be massive, or at least feel like it lol. I agree that he was probably just in the Star level. If you breed a foal this season who is a star out of an A/Blue, or one otherwise just at the threshold, you could always check for peace of mind.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

@ObsidianKitsune thank you so much for confirming, that makes me feel better! After nothing visibly changed I got a bit paranoid lol.
And thank you, he is going to be up for stud next season! He even has 3 mares that are all maxed out and will be boosted as well thar I might sell embryos out of! Let me know if you’d like me to start a pre season list on him :)Thanked by 1ObsidianKitsune
