Is there still a benefit to neuter if the horse is Leveled Off? This foal hasn't even trained, her PT is so low. I'll keep her either way since she has such high points (from being a pointed create). But I'll leave her intact if there's no benefit to spaying at this point. Am I understanding correctly?

@Walywoohoo points don’t mean anything when it comes to breeding, so you might as well spay her. PT and paper levels are what I pay attention to for breeding. I’m not sure if spaying will do much for her but she will still generate you her daily bonus amount

I edited; does it make sense now? I meant to say that I'm keeping her just because of her points, not because she fits any breeding program. But she's XPro, and if there's no benefit to spay...

Ohhh that makes sense haha. Honestly her PT is so low I wouldn’t bother trying to get her to train further, I don’t think it’ll make all that much of a difference. You can leave her unspayed and use her as a surrogate mare for embryos though, which is always helpful!

Since she is ExPro she can still produce good foals. PT score is not an indication of breeding quality.

Once a horse is leveled off, they do still technically add to their score for training. The amount they add though is so tiny it is basically not counted. While they will get a touch more from being altered, once again, once leveled off it doesn't really matter much. Because she is so young, she *might* go up a placing before she ages out.

You can still keep her intact though. She can be used as a surrogate, and her abilities won't matter at all to the foal as she is not technically the foals mother. Or you can use her for breeding, as she should be a good producer herself.

I spay any horse I won't breed, just to keep my drop breeding lists shorter. That is about the only benefit to spaying here.

Thanks for all the input! I'll probably toss her in the bootstrap herd, and neuter her foals :D
