Do grandparent genes pass down as well or is it only the parent genes that get passed down?

Hi I am having some trouble understanding if grandparents genes also get passed down in this game or if its just the parents. Thanks!

Hi stellaz - just like in real life, genes come from parents, which come from grandparents. So the answer is yes, but not directly.
This means that a gene that a grandparent has might not make it to the grandchild, depending on what is passed to the parent, and which allele the parent passes to the foal.

That is kind of a confusing way to put it. A foal can get the genes from its parents and only from its parents. Parents get those from the grandparents but a foal can get any gene the parents do not have.Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Thank you ! I was wondering because of the purple genes. I'm guessing that if I don't own the gene licence then I still are unable to breed them from either parent or granparents?

You can not breed to a horse that you do not have a gene license for. You can purchase a horse and breed to it if it does not have the licensed gene but its parent does.Need to contact me?
