How do eras work?

I’m creating new horses and some of them are era 11 and some are era 12, and it goes back and forth and I don’t understand.
It’s relevant to the presents I’m trying to make for the gift exchange. (I messed up and put gmts on a horse from the wrong era :-( ) -
Some else already answered you in the other thread, but for the GMTs just refund them. :) People will have the bugged ones for sale/trade I am sure.Need to contact me? Read this first.
