I am working on my Bootstrap line, just got started. I noticed that even when breeding a consistent stallion to a consistent mare I am still getting inconsistent foals. Out of 19 foals one stallion gave me 7 inconsistent foals, and my other stallion out of 12 foals gave me 6 inconsistent foals.

I am wondering how I should interpret this info, if the stallion who gave me more inconsistent foals not as good or is it all random chance? Should I be keeping or culling inconsistent foals? Should I avoid using inconsistent fillies in my breeding program?

You can always get inconsistent horses. Consistent horses are good steady showers. Inconsistent are not great one day, but the next day they will be amazing and win. Both bring in the money.

So whether a foal is consistent or inconsistent is just random?

You are more likely to get inconsistent foals from inconsistent parents. So if you are trying to avoid them, only breed consistent horses and you'll get less of them.

You can also gene mod horses that are inconsistent to consistent, if they are everything else you are looking for. It usually bumps PT about 0.5 to go from inconsistent to consistent. ;)
