Testing is either off, or on. I suggest using bulk management in your barn to test your horses. You cannot inadvertently comparison test a horse via bulk management.

Nope, its the comparison. The button is right below the one I want, and sometimes the page jumps around on me after doing the previous testing. It's really very annoying and I've come close several other times but caught it before I hit ok. I've got it turned off right now but I hate losing pasture images because I love looking at my horses all at once and that's the only place I can do that.

ETA It pops up saying X would breed about the same as Foundation Horse or whatever, which I would never bother testing on purpose because my horses are foundation horse offspring lol.

ETA2 It would be really helpful if that button did not have a preselected option so you would have to actually pick something to compare to rather than having one selected already.

Nope I play on a desktop. I use a lot of tabs and watch tv while I play around too lol.
