    I suppose max out does not make consistent as well? I had higher hopes for this guy, but after the max out he still has both a lower, inconsistent PT and a lower breeding ability than his sire. Do y’all think I should just ditch the dam entirely? Is she that much lower than the stud?

    For the stud, you have to go back at least 5-6 generations before you start seeing a blue/A papering. Dam comes from a Blue mare however, so not surprising that she isn't the same quality as the stud. If you like the colour of him, maybe use him to help bring more colour in without sacrificing too much quality?
