Bootstrapping question
-
I have a few horses left from when I was bootstrapping a year or so ago, and wound up cloning my best mare to gmt into my next sire, who ended up getting a 5% boost, but still tested worse than. (Both parents did pass ba though)
My question: if I breed him, is there still a chance any of his foals will be able to pass ba without a max boost?
I never really got serious about breeding for show horses, just bred anything and everything, so I’m just now trying to understand it all

Breeding advice only compares a foal to its parents. Not its grandparents. The grandparents have zero impact on testing.
Breeding advice only compares foals to parents. It does not tell you the overall quality of the horse. That is what papers are for. :)Need to contact me? Read this first. Only send me a PM for PayPal issues or if I ask you to. Otherwise, make a forum post. You will get a better faster answer by making a post.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

That makes sense, thank you Ammit! I don’t know where I got the idea that the grandparents somehow played a role, but I’m glad that’s not the case :)
