Remember that for any bay gene to be having any effect, there must be Extension to activate it. Both of these horses are red based, so the Agouti is irrelevant.

As Cheers says, for any of the Agouti genes (A) to have effect, there must be a copy of Extension (E). A* is simply the hold over from at, as we swap to a more genetically correct brown.

There are also no darkening genes on this horse at all, and a copy of cream, which lightens the coat. Mushroom I think removes black pigment, so you also have none of that on the horse. Plus the bronzing from the appy, which will also lighten the coat gradually with varnish, and the horse will be bright.

Ah yes, it’s much less yellow now. Anyone who didn’t see it before it updated is going to wonder why I was so amazed by a cream horse
