GMT Distraction
• Hi everyone! I’ve been struggling with some health issues for most of this year, and just got one of the problems diagnosed as endometriosis. Yesterday I had my first post op appointment and it was incredibly disappointing and mentally numbing to say the least.

I’ve been using this game as a distraction, but I’m sort of at a pause until pastured open back up and I’m able to gmt some more. So I’m hoping people will help distract me with their current gmt projects and their end goals for horses or lines, game accomplishments, or anything else you’re excited about!
• I’m finding myself in a weird place in the game at the moment, and not quite sure where to go from here. I’ve been playing for 7 years now and have a huge barn, with plenty of hbs/IVs, but I’m a bit cash and time poor at the moment.

My favourite line at the moment is definitely my Rainbow Riot 1 and 2 line with some ice, Platinum and Tobiano shatterglass mixed in. Currently my least favourite line is my Axiom/Warp/ice 10 line, not because I don’t love those genes, but more because I feel like I’ve seen those patterns over and over again and nothing is really feeling exciting in that herd.

90% of my paid genes are on foundation stallions, with just occasional mares getting a paid gene, usually ice or phantom.

These stallions are aging out:

1True Spirit ExP QgVeCi

And I think I’m going to replace them with a hom warp het ice 10 paintbrush stallion.

And these are my Rainbow boys who I think are going to get divided into the Axiom pasture (which has a lot of chestnut and dun and cream in it) and my Rainbow pasture (which is mostly light or medium bay with a lot of appy).

I’m still struggling a little with how this is going to change my herd overall, but there is so much cool stuff going on with the rainbow genes and how they combine, so I think I’m going to stick with that as a focus for now. I’d be very interested in any thoughts you might have, as I feel like I’m floundering through this a bit. Lack of time to breed is complicating this transition, but hopefully I will at least get through the foundation pastures in October!
• @Cheers you have some really jncredikme boys! I especially love Crucible and Rebel Cry! I understand how it could be pretty daunting to make such large switches, especially after doing things a certain way for so long. But it’s going to be very exciting to see what they bring to the herd <3
I’ve been playing off and on for about 4 years now, but never really focused on any show herds, so I’m still a little barn, so all my ideas may only be “small scale” or “already been there done that” level lol. I’m working on getting more color genes, so my current project is all about incorporating onyx, platinum, toner, inkspot, splash m, and hopefully some ices and see what kind of foals come out of each of the different mares. Im doing some het (like onyx, splash m, inkspot), so that it’ll give me some different outcomes each time.
I feel like that was my problem in the past too, I always did hom genes with matching mares and the foals always turned out to be one in the same. If you have an “everything” stallion, it might be neat to see what the foals look like if you put him in pasture with a bunch of ExPro or RS mares!
Thanked by 1Cheers
• As I have just returned from nealry a 2 year break, I am focusing on staying small and just keeping things more managable this time.
I got rid of everything so I guess that will make things easier for the time being. Just need to get a show herd going to boost the income but that is ok too, it will keep my growth rate down lol.

I am loving the new grey variations in this game and I think I will start focusing on that. I think the break also made the game exiting now that I have returned....if not also a ittle daunting.

This is my boy that I am going to be working on, I think I will forcus on playing around with the greys, in a small controlled group, then throw in a bit of snowflake (because that was my first love)

• P.S I hope you are on the road to recovery, or at least to make pain more managable. There is nothing worse than beng sick for so long. Do you have to go back in for further surgery?
• @Goobanni welcome back! I remember buying a few of your senior horses when you were clearing your barns <3
You had such beautiful horses I can’t wait to see what you come up with this go around! And the boy you’re working on certainly lives up to that reputation! I didn’t even know you could still get the classic brindle markings instead of chimera, I could’ve sworn it was the dfp1 gene lol. Snowflake, Kp, and satin were my first loves too! It’s going to look great!
I don’t have much, but if you wanted to take a look at my barns there might be something useful for your show herd :)
• @CoppiLane, actually, that guy @Goobani posted is a "bug" so to speak, and would need to be regenerated to "display" how he should (the updated way).
Love,
Chase ♡
• @Goobanni, sorry I’m just seeing that second post! As of right now it’s up in the air. The first surgery they were supposed to remove it if present, but everything was too enclaves so they weren’t able to. So they are going to be putting me on a medication to simulate menopause for 6 months to reduce it, then on depo for a little bit to “wean me off”, and go from there. But I know medications don’t actually treat it, just mask the symptoms of it so it would still be growing and still cause problems, so I really just want to do the surgery regardless if I’m feeling better or not.
But I’ve been dealing with daily lower abdominal, back, and hip pain, fatigue, and many other issues for literally every day since March, so the fact that he may not remove it at all is a bit upsetting. It’s a bit too much to type all out, but he’s really my only option for a doctor at this moment, but my mom, sister, and myself have all had bad experiences with him in the past, so just being treated by him is a little nerve wracking.
• @SpryOfJune oh that makes sense! Thank you I was a little confused how that happened
• @SpryOfJune The dun factor 1 mixed with onxy gives the brindle stripes. I have rolled him a couple of times and he alwasy has the spripes :)
• @CoppiLane , that sounds so frustrating. If you ever just want to talk about random things to pass the time, message me when ever you like :)
It sounds like you are going to be on a hormonal rollercoaster for the next few months.
I do genuinely wish you all the best and a gentle recovery.
• @Goobanni thank you so much <3 I already feel like my emotions are a bit everywhere, so it’ll be interesting to see how it effects me once I actually start lol. But I’ll definitely take you up on that offer! I have a 2.5 year old son, a new puppy, and a blue collar husband, so I’m stuck somewhere between running in circles and stuck with my own thoughts, so it’ll be nice to have an adult to talk to :-))
• @Goobani, yes, but the thing is that he should have two sets of DNA since he's a brindle. Look up other "Chimeric" foals and you'll see what I mean.
Love,
Chase ♡
Thanked by 1Goobanni
• @SpryOfJune That is incorrect. Horses that are hom DFP1 are labeled as Brindle. The horse @Goobani posted is not a chimera and therefor does not have 2 dna sets. Chimeras are not labeled as Brindle

• @AHayesHorses, I was not aware hom DFP1 horses were labeled as brindle, so thank you for the clarification. I just remembered the old "Chimeric" horses being labeled this way, and know I've had a few of the new ones "bug out" like that.

• There are no reports of any bugs related to brindle phenotypes or chimeric horses.

• I was meaning in the past, not long after the update, not recent. And wasn't aware of the DFP1 thing, so thought it may have just been a bug.

• @SpryOfJune No worries! :) Hom DFP! is labeled as Brindle because it causes brindle-like stripes in the coat when paired with Dun or Onyx :)

• Brindle just means striped. :)
