Crossbreeding sizes

Are there any negatives or benefits to crossbreeding? For example, draft to riding horse, or cob (pony) to warmblood? I'm assuming that some people wouldn't prefer to buy such crosses, but other than that?
Thanks! -
There are no negative effects of breeding them together.

Thank you! Do some people not like them mixed?

It depends if someone is breeding for the lightest or heaviest bone possible, but generally folks don't seem to mind if the lineage of their horses are mixed bone weights. :)ID# 25784

As BlueValley says. Quite often the people breeding for only drafts like them to be on the heavier side of bone. I know that myself I can be hesitant about buying a horse with bone less than 2.70. The horse is a draft if the bone is 2.50 and above. However I will use warmblood straws/stud, but again only if their bone is high enough for the cross to realistically turn out to be a draft. I'm guessing this is probably the same for riding horse breeders. With warmbloods being smack in the middle I'm not sure how people go about trying to breed a line entirely of them lol.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable.

Excellent, thank you all so much for the explanation!
