This is a new puppet account. Thought I’d try out the new model. My very first account was on this server back in February. Things are moving quicker than my original account on this server because of the higher achievement bonuses and I know the basics this time. The higher pointed creates are nice. Compared to my accounts that I have/had on the other servers it feels kinda slow though. It’s harder to snag good herd helpers on this server and I can’t sell horses because of the new creation caps, which means that I have to wait for the herd helpers I want rather than selling creates to buy or GM ones that match my goals. I’m creating only foals and spending 0 real money this time so I’ll have four months to see if there are going to be any more rule changes before I start breeding, and hopefully in that time they will have earned enough with showing to start building a nice breeding herd once I see how things are going to go… if I don’t get bored first because I am way more interested in the genetics and breeding than the showing part. I have never had any luck on the showing end, I think the only award winners in any of my herds are horses that I’ve purchased. Maybe some weekly games or alternate ways to earn GMs would help make it more interesting?

Well, we will see how it goes. So far it’s going faster than my first experience but much slower than my average experience. I’ll keep you posted.

*edit- when I say 0 real money, I meant other than the discount basic upgrade. Who has time for training and entering each horse into shows manually?

If the points get lower as get closer to your cutoff they must get abysmally low, because a lot of my creates are already coming out with less than 200. I’d normally auction them, but now that creates sold count against your numbers too, I don’t see much point. We’ll see how the numbers are looking after I run out of barn space.

Yeah, horses like this will not take new users very far fast! Too bad no one is selling their good pointed creates anymore… it seems like a new user would get further by buying instead of creating.

Over half the horses I’ve created have are 350 points or less. Before the new caps I would not have even considered keeping them and would have sent them straight to auction. I’m not impressed with the new user experience so far.

I just reached my 20k point cap with 37 horses, not all my creation. So that averages out to mid 500 per horse. Not sure if I just got lucky with creates near the end but I did not notice them to be much lower than the others.

Pretty much just checking in to make my special daily herd helper and make sure everyone has been entered in shows at this point. I don’t see much point in creating horses since most are coming out with less than a hundred points and are kind of a waste of barn space. So far the new user experience is pretty slow and boring. I think I will check the auction tomorrow to see if I can find some decent pointed horses that will actually bring in some hbs.

Final thoughts -

It would be nice if players who are still in the pointed create phase could get more than $1000 for selling the low point creates back to the game. This occurred to me because the vast majority of my creates were low pointed and I have sold several back to the game so I’d have the barn space to keep trying for better pointed creates… maybe 2k hbs for sell back on new accounts?

At a certain point in the achievement tasks a new barn would be a cool reward. It’s impossible to build a profitable show herd without barns.

Why so many low point horses? 30-90 point horses are not going to earn anyone enough to keep things fun and interesting.

They can auction those horses and get 2500.

But the horses you sell still count against your pointed create numbers.

No. Not if they are sold back to the game. They do not count. And the points are lower because they are easing you off creating points. People hated how the points just stopped. So now they ease off. You are still getting free points and horses that will make more than they cost in lifetime earnings. If someone does not want one they can auction it back to the game and get their money back and create a new horse. Those low-point horses are not getting purchased in auction and will not count against them.

Even if they do get purchased that is why you have 40k worth of points you can sell before it stops you. There is built-in flexibility there.

@GreenestAcres The point cap for pointed creates is 60,000 now. You get achievement prizes for different milestones all the way to 100,000 though.

I very much enjoyed the new user experience and found it much easier and faster to get an account up and running.

I’m confused… don’t foundation horses that don’t get sold at auction get sent to the foundation rescue? I know that I’ve picked excellent producers and rank specials out of the foundation rescue on my other accounts and the horses I buy from foundation rescue are still listed with the creator’s name… so even if they don’t get sold at auction won’t they still count against me if they go to rescue and someone picks them up?

The Foundation rescue does not pick up every single foundation horse, it only grabs those that are equivalent to a Perfect Foundation. So every foundation horse that fails BA tend to just get sold back to the game. Same for the inconsistent ones, or the ones who don't PT 9.9.

If a horse does not get sold at auction, it will be sold back to the game and disappear.

All I create are exceptional producers, exceptionally perfects, and rank specials… so most of those would qualify for foundation rescue wouldn’t they?

Exceptional horses don't get picked up by the foundation rescue. They are more likely to be bought at auction, but most of them still get sold back to the game. Rank specials tend to be perfect or exceptional. Perfect horses are exactly what account 13 is looking for.
