I think there could be more options for achievements which guide players to sustainable game play and practice with the search functions

- Purchase 5 show horses with a PT higher than " "
- Purchase 5 show horses with all time points above " "
- Own a horse whose genetic code includes " "
- Own a horse whose color name includes " "
- Use the search function to locate a horse with an average foal PT of " ", enter horse's ID here to claim.
- Use levels to purchase a barn
- Use levels to purchase a basic upgrade (may have option to skip)
- Breed a horse with perfect consistency
- Breed a horse with a PT above " "
- Breed a horse with a PT below " " (for those curious about barn busters"
- Sell a pointed foundation horse for at least half its lifetime payout
- Purchase a horse from the Foundation Rescue

Oooh, purchasing horses that meet specific goals would help users learn the search functions too! Assuming that's trackable.

This is an excellent idea! I was just thinking about how awful the search feature is for new players. It’s overwhelming and confusing.

The search feature is very hard to learn but great once you do. On Mesa I’m searching for the largest horse I can find with low white factor. The search feature can do exactly that but I needed help to find “sort by size” under the basic drop down. (Bone over 3, under 15 years old, minimum or no white factor, hide horses I can’t purchase, then jump to the last page and work backwards.)

Think I've decided on a plan for a Show based stable now while I'm still making pointed Creates. Horses created with under 400 pts or Rank Specials that I don't breed for will be sold to make income for a 1000 horse barn. I'm more than halfway there now. The anniversary RS are making the difference there.

My next objectives will be a Basic upgrade and accumulating high PT horses from auction. Without the extra income from RS I would make Basic Upgrade a 1st priority as 30lvls aren't as difficult to get to with more pointed horses and the bonuses.
From there I will focus on GMTing the couple of horses I really like from the special RS's before ever thinking about breeding them.
Understanding that spending a little time on this will get me to the colors and quality that I want without a lot of pasture sorting is encouraging me to keep a smaller breeding herd this time.

Another "optional" achievement could be to GMT a horse with genes that you searched for in previous achievements.

ex. Achievements
Search for a horse with Hm DP
Buy a GMT
*Optional* GMT a chestnut mare with no DP to be Ht DP

Final notes.
I did go ahead and purchase the Basic membership with IVs. With my work schedule and my main account to manage I started to remember how tedious hand training and showing was. Remembering to show the horses every week is so necessary though! I do recall messing that part up starting out as Looper. Not only did I immediately start breeding whatever I could buy but I did not religiously show my horses. It went so slowly that for a while I was barely playing up until the point I quit another site and started to take more interest in this community.

The new bonuses make a huge difference. Results may be a little skewed, as selling extra rank specials this month definitely tipped the scale and accelerated things a bit, but they certainly put players in position early on to understand the value of show horses and purchasing the Basic membership with IVs to dramatically improve game/life balance.

I was largely ignorant of the forums and community at large early on as Looper. I think the logs from the players that participated in this experiment are an opportunity to make a gameplay scrapbook of sorts to really help direct new players. Maybe use a large banner space at the top of the screen to link to the forums and a locked in place thread where we summarize our game play strategies.
