Just needing to vent
  • So I toke up a part time job just get out of the house during our crappy winter.
It's a feed store like tractor supply. I run the livestock/pet supplies area.
Now I go though check for expired product. I pull it if expired and get it out of the system.
Now some months there a ton of products. Like this month. I have cart full of horse treats. Now I ask everyone before I take it if anyone wants it. Then I leave it sit for aday or two in the back.
What's left. I take home and donate to recuses. I pay to drive it there or have it shipped. I picked this month that Devil's Cut Draft Rescues in PA would get the mother loaf of horse treats. It cost me cost to 135.oo to ship. The big boss likes this and ok it's. I also tell everyone that's where all this left over stuff is going so everyone knows.
Now today, I'm getting my butt chewed because 3 other employees don't like how much I'm taking and they lie about what I'm doing with it. (yes I keep receipts and record just for this reason)
Then once I explained and show my proof I'm in the clear. But still really hurts that other employees knew what I was doing but yet decided to start drama and lies. It kinda taken joy out of it for me to donate now. I don't want the drama but hate just cutting opening good product that someone else can use to help animals.
I don't get why they hate what I'm doing? Not like they can't take the product before I ship it. Crying.... people suck butts.
Ok. Done venting now. Thanks for reading.
  • There's always someone at any job that wants to stir the pot, I find. I'm sorry for what they've done to you, but I find it very commendable you've spent the money out of pocket to send this stuff to rescues!

  • Thank you Blue valley
I really wanted give this one rescue mare some lovin. She at that devil's cut rescue. Really you should be commending the rescue. This poor mare Miss Molly was locked and chained up in the bottom of a bank barn for months. Last time she was out was for breeding. She has a huge mass that they didn't get vet out for. Devil's Cut paid 3,000 to get her. Turns out her mass is cancer and it is so large in her jaw that it fractured her jaw. I couldn't imagine her pain...crying.
Likely have to put her down sooner then later but they are looking at a special surgery to maybe save her life. But it isn't hopeful form my understanding.
Just breaks my heart this sweet mare was treated like trash for so many years to only be rescued and given a short time to know love.
Maybe some treats will make her day.
  • Get in touch with the big boss and suggest they make donating the leftover stuff to charities official company policy. Offer to run a little webpage for them, (or a facebook page) tell them it would be fantastic publicity for the firm.
That should shut the other employees up.
  • That is good idea. Alot our stores just cut and dumb the feed into the dumpster. What a waste.
