I didn't even know this was a thing. I shudder to hear what I've lost but with it being so hard to manage and me having so many I haven't done much AI breeding in a while.

I'm actually thinking of both, horses that have offspring as well as no offspring. In the middle of reducing and reorganizing, so a lot of offspring are going to show right now. I'm also reworking the direction I'm straw breeding and breeding in general. I'll notice if a breeding offspring of an archived horse ages out so I can replace them. If the offspring age out of the show barns all at once though then I have less warning that I need to work through that line again. Labeling all archived horses in the breeding lab would help me remember to check for living offspring and decide what to do with the materials before the offspring are gone and the timer starts - whether that means using them, selling them or deleting them because I won't use them.

The timer is very useful as a last warning. I'm just also a list-making, procrastinating fan of redundancies and contingencies. For example, I have loved the extra button clicks that prevent mistakes with auctions and gelding as well as the handful of methods available to reverse those actions if I'm still undecided and do them anyway. I might be in a stage where I change my mind too much...

No, it can not search by generation. There are physical limitations to how complex a database query can be.

Each query is a bucket it can only get so full before it overflows. The LB and the search are both already full buckets. if you combine the buckets they overflow.
