Gifting genes?

Sending a lined horse with a gene that my giftee doesn't have does not transfer the gene to them? Sending a new gene must be done on a foundation? I'm so confused.IAM WolfDen #50695

Sending a gene that your giftee does not own must be transferred as a show pony or a foundation.
You can only send a lined, intact horse with closed genes if your giftee has the appropriate license(s).ID# 25784 -
