Keep Horses
  • When or what should I keep or sell/auction? I need to thin out my horses before next breeding season and ive gotten rid of colors i do not want but i need to move more. HELP
  • Focus on growing your show herd. Breeding is secondary at this point, so you want to be collecting pointed creates or high PT foals from auction. Put any mares you want to keep and breed in a pasture, and let them live there accumulating their pasture breeding bonus. Throw anything 17 years old into the auction, there's a good possibility they will pass away at rollover. Any foals that you aren't going to breed and have PT less than 9.5 (or maybe 9.9), send to the auction. You've got way too many studs LOL - I suffer from the same problem. Pick the 2 or 3 best (you may need to comparison test some) and alter the rest for showing, altered horses get a training bonus. Look hard at anything over 10 years old, if you aren't keeping it to breed, put it in the auction! Horses 10 and older will net you their Current Lifetime Payout as a minimum bid.
