ET Results?

Does anyone else comfortably play around a little bit with the more expensive genetics you have? I usually make 2, sometimes 3 mares a year to use as flush gals. This season I got comfortable enough to alter a couple of the A papered boys into little ladies. BUT... I did have a VERY impressive new stud born! And quite the gorgeous runner-up! Half brothers!

I don’t do a ton of ET and never make mares specifically for ET mostly because I’m lucky to get 1/50 lab foals that meet my standards. That said, any mares with bought genes (mostly phantom and ice, but a few with rainbow riot stuff) that are able to age out come into my barn to be flushed until they pass or hit 20yo, so I do a respectable amount of embryo creation when I remember to…
Last season I actually had some very special foals make it past testing, with these two as the stand outs:
Legacy Day of the Moon son
2Day ofthe Sun KkDecYqMx2
Gelidin son for my chin/Mach line

Your new boys look awesome and it’s seeing guys like that that keep me going back to the lab every season with fingers crossed

I've been doing a lot of ET on my chimera for several seasons now because multiple foals per season ups my chances of chimera. I've been gradually doing more ETin my "normal" lines ever since the update that added the equivalent of a 15 day bonus. Most aren't really expensive genes, but rather higher quality. For example, I have a lovely set of Blue papered foundation mares to boost quality in any new genes I get, since I usually am slightly less strict the first couple seasons with a new gene. I only keep A/Blue 2nd gens unless I need more of a new gene to spread it around. Now that I have quite a few blue foundation mares, I can use my fancy studs with them to increase my blue filly count instead of keeping red fillies. I also do a bit of a quality boost using 3rd gen Stars to get more of my newer genes or older bloodlines up to the quality I prefer for 4th gen. I've bred 60 ET foals so far this season and still have most of my lined chimeras to do, so I expect to do easily another 60.#28036
