I've created chimeras before in the GMT lab, but they didn't work how I intended. Say I'm using 2 foundations horses, Horse A and Horse B; which horse do I need to be on their page for them to be the primary strand? Last time I did this, the horse I wanted for the primary strand became the secondary strand... :-/

Horse A wants to be Primary, so you must open horse A's page and work in their lab to add horse B. Don't open horse B to view. Just add. If you open horse B you end up in their lab.

Make sure you give horse B a memorable name so that you can easily find it in the drop down list.

@FolliesFantasies, yes, I make sure I do that. Most of mine are named with abbreviations of some of the genes they have, and usually BR or brindle in the name.

Make sure you follow the instructions on the page.

The horse you select below will be permanently destroyed

It also warms you "This horse will be permanently destroyed. Please make sure this is indeed the horse you wish to merge as they will be permanently destroyed by this process. This can not be reversed." and will show you a picture and the name of that horse. If you follow along with the prompt text there should be no danger of getting it backward. :)
