I have a question: do the amount of points on a horse matter/what do they mean?

Hi Silver10! Welcome to the game. Yep, points matter! The more show points a horse holds the more showing bonus you will get at each nightly rollover. Horses gain points by winning (or placing high) in show classes. The more training the horse has the better they will do in show classes. So, the moral of the story is; train and show every chance you get.

Hello! I joined a few days ago. I love a variety of horse colors and types. I haven't seen all the colors yet on the game, but I do like these 3 horses. :)

LOL! Every crazy horse girl wants white with black mane and tail! Don't know why that happens, but it does! :D We've had requests for how to breed for it several times!

I've always liked them since I was kid. hehe I've grown to like lots of other colors, but that combo seems to the hardest of the colors to get on online games. XD

I think a black splash with tons of white or even a black homozygous Sabino 1 would get that color combo.

Hi everyone! New here, trying to learn the ropes, HBs already mostly gone :-))

I found the game through a random post or ad on Facebook while I was aimlessly scrolling before going to ride my Mom's real-life horse. Never hurts to have more horse time in my life.

I'm still trying to figure out a few things, like whether it's worthwhile to sell or auction any of my horses at this point and how to boost my profits. Jumping on the question about points, I have a horse with a lifetime earning potential of around 12k, but he's earning me something like 26HB per day. Is it better to keep him or sell? Does it matter?

I have a weakness for grays in real life, but currently in-game a have a bay appy that I'm pretty partial to.

Hi, Ktarpey! Welcome to the game. The best bit of advice anyone can give a new player is to get your hands on some good show horses. They are what brings in the HBs for your breeding herd.

It would be helpful if you could post a link to the horse you are asking about, so we can get a good idea of what's going on.

Sure! So I ended up creating this lovely lady last night... 344 points and a lifetime payout of around 14k. From what I've been reading, some players will pay roughly the lifetime payout of the horse to get a create with point already on it. So I'm trying to figure out if it would suit me better at this point to sell horses like this one for HBs up front so I can have a foundation of money to support creating and breeding more show ponies, or if it qould be better to hold on to horses like this and train them, breed them, show them, etc. to earn the daily points. I'm so indecisive about this that I've been hesitant to spay/geld anyone.

I'm also not great on understanding the genetics side of things so I'm not sure if horses I'm looking at to buy are good show prospects. If all their point stats are 0 does that mean that they'll never earn points? Or does that just mean they're untested and untrained?

Also (sorry for the buckets of questions!) is it automatically a bad idea to buy horses with high white factor? Or does that only matter for breeding?

I appreciate you stopping by to answer questions for me! I'm playing on mobile so far so I haven't found a way to search the forums for my answers except by manually going through each post.

That mare is Exceptionally Perfect (aka ExPerf). She has a higher Performance Test (PT) score than 'normal' creates. 9.9 is perfect for a basic standard create, her score is 10.4. That is her showing potential.

She is also an Exceptional Producer (ExPro). Since the breeding test 'scores' are not available for players, we have to trust that she will be better than your average create in the breeding shed as well as the show ring. This doesn't mean that her foals will be 100% perfect themselves, because you have to add in the sires contribution, and the random factors that any breeding would have. The foal she does have appears to have passed Breeding Advice (BA), even though his PT score is lower than his moms. So he could make you nice babies when he grows up, but don't expect anything really exciting from his showing scores.

Genetics on Hunt & Jump are mostly about colors. Really good mares and stallions will generally tend to produce higher PT scores, but there is no guarantee. For the most part stats at 0 mean untested and untrained, but there are horses out their that are just plain bad. You would need to know if the horse had been trained and shown at every opportunity, to know if the 0's were the sign of a bad horse, or of an owner who didn't test and train.

Hello! Ive loved horses since I was around 7 years old. I hit that horse girl phase and never grew out of it, in fact my love for horses has grown. I enjoy learning more about horses and their coat genetics!

How do you breed better horses than what you have? Whats the best thing to focus on when pairing horses for breedings?

@Mesahorseluvr - to breed for better horses than you have you will need to run Breeding Advice (BA) or Strict Breeding Advice (SBA), if you have an upgrade. The game uses those tests to sort out horses who are worse than, about as good as, and better than their parents. If you don't get an upgrade you can use the Performance Test (PT) to sort them out. It's not as good as the breeding advice, but it's better than not testing at all!

@Moappy2 @SabreBaby It's great to meet you both! Welcome! Sabre, the genetics aspect is absolutely my second favorite part of the game - I'm a huge genetics nerd and love seeing what all can be done. My first favorite part of this game will always be the community though! I've never yet met a more welcoming and friendly community in the whole of my internet travels. You'll make more friends than you know what to do with! :x
