Can bid against yourself in auction
  • If you hold the high bid, then you enter a higher bid, you can bid against yourself in the auction, then you pay the higher price. That doesn't seem right. In the very least a pop is in order that warns you that you are already the high bidder on the horse and that if you increase your bid, you will pay more for the horse.
  • It's supposed to work like that. That way you can up the bid as much as you feel comfortable if you want to have a greater chance at not being outbid.

  • Or if you accidentally place a horse in auction and have to bid it outrageous so no one else purchases it. :D That may be redundant with the new rescue option though.
  • Yea I throw outrageous bids on accidental listings

  • But you can accidentally put in a bid against yourself and pay more than you meant to on the horse. That's why a warning would be best, to protect against people not intending to bid that high, which still allowing people who actually do want to bid high to do so.

A better option would be an auto-bidder, like ebay, where you enter your max bid and the auto-bidder bids for you up to your max.
  • You can remove horses from action anytime now :)

But an auto-bidder would drive prices up a LOT. The action has always been a place where new players could score good horses for a good price.

I dont think bidding against yourself has ever been a problem in the game. Just make it a habit to look at the bid list before hitting the button.

  • It sounds like you expected it to be dutch bidding style like ebay and got confused. It has never been an issue before but I can see how if you thought it would work like ebay you might be confused.

  • We are looking at a complete overhaul of the auction house in the future and might be switching over to Dutch bidding when we do. Not sure if/when that might happen though.
