Seriously frustrated

Went to see a dentist Thursday because the fillings I just had done a year ago have broken and are causing pain. After the x-rays and a small exam they told me I have to have 4 teeth pulled and bone grafts put in their place. Turns out that the last dentist that did my fillings messed it all up and put the fillings on the top 2 molars all the way in the very back (the ones before your wisdom teeth) on the nerve. So those 2 have to go and so do the wisdom teeth there. The bone grafts are to keep my sinuses from collapsing. I've had chronic sinus infections and found it's because all of my top teeth start in my sinuses. All of the roots are in my sinus cavity area. After some work itll be better. I have to pay $1,209 out of pocket and I have no clue how I'm going to do it. My first set of extractions is on August 11th and I have to have $500 that day to pay for the bone grafts. The insurance covers the extractions but not the grafts. I am unemployed and I'm going to end up going into debt to make sure I'm healthy.

I absolutely hate how expensive dental care is as a whole. I need a few teeth crowned and to get the chipped top incisor done i will need to pay $1200. That's just for the single tooth and they said there's 3-4 more that need done.
They're not yet to the point that they /need/ care, but I'm dreading trying to save. My dental insurance will cover the local anesthesia but not the crown or the tooth prep.
I'm so sorry you're in that situation. Dental care is such a huge issue! -
I am in the middle of a huge dental work series. First a crown, then an extraction, then some fillings, then a partial. I do have to say that I was SERIOUSLY impressed when they did the crown in less than 2 hours because they have a 3D printer that makes them while you wait!
I am very fortunate that I have dental insurance through my job, but it's still going to be around $2000 out of pocket! This is the first time in my adult life that I don't have to worry about the costs, but I definitely remember being in the position of having to scrounge to get the money to pay for the work, so I do feel for you!

That’s awful. I don’t know/think it’s something that can help you now @TomCat, but there is a way to self-heal your teeth; similar to how your body heals a cut or infection. My whole family hasn’t had to have a filling in years because we constantly work on keeping our teeth in a state where they can heal themselves. It would be something to look into for the future.
