Hi! I'm Silverborn. I've been into horses since elementary school, but had to stop riding in college for health reasons. This is my way of getting back into them - pixel ponies will have to do.

I have a dog (Bobo, fluffy brown and white mutt, 11 years old) and 3 rats (Crowley the black with white chest, fat rat, and 2 brothers Ryuji the marten and Mishima the solid black one). I want to start having mice eventually, but I'll need to save up for that first.

I have no idea what I'm doing with this game, so any help is appreciated!

I prefer coke, especially cherry or cinnamon.

Welcome silverborn! I used to have ratties, and I still love them and I will get back into them eventually, I know!

Best advice: Keep 3 show horses (spayed or gelded) for every 1 breeding horse you have.

Any particular colors you want to breed for?

I'm hoping to stick with realistic colors only. I've had an idea in my head for a fantasy breed that would be from an island where one subtype is a heavy forest type and the other is a light desert type. The draft ones are all black based with minimal white and the light ones are all red based with as much white as possible. So I'm sort of going to aim for that, eventually. For now I'm just breeding and testing everyone. Got a bunch of spayed mares!

Is there a way to change /every/ horse's sale price to zero at once, or do i need to do it individually?

Never mind, i saw the note on that other thread that there will be a price but they aren't for sale by default. That's comforting!

Hello, everyone. I'm not new to the game, I used to play it a ton but lost track of it in the rigors of life for several years. I have a bachelors degree in Equine Management where I had to attend several classes on equine breeding and genetics, husbandry, training, nutrition, riding instruction, and stable management. I dapple in dressage and eventing and I train horses for both dressage and jumping.

Hello, I am Kbikb. I am totally new but this looks like fun.

I like horses ok, I used to play Howrse religiously, but I've never really been around them in real life. I'm really here for the genetic gameplay and am super excited to play a game with complex gene expression! Any beginner tips would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hi all!
I joined three years years ago but just recently reconnected with the game. I'm so excited to be back and am really enjoying it - it's really exactly what I have been looking for.

I have been riding and showing horses for over 20 years. My preferred breeds are arabians and half-arabians, which I currently have one of each who I do most everything with. I am happy to talk horses non-stop so feel free to message me any time (about anything even - I'm very chatty).

I have a bachelors degree in Biochemistry and work in a hospital research lab. Besides work and horse time, I also enjoy my houseplants, knitting, reading, cooking, and more!

Hey, I'm wondering now if there's a FAQ for buying additional barns or pastures?

I'm debating not breeding at all this next month (gasp!) and focusing on showing the ones i have, then selling the inconsistent intact horses i have. Or trying to get more "consistent show" HH rolls to create. I'll see.

Either way, i have ...i think 15 stalls left? So enough, but i want to keep showing and training everyone and i don't think i can do that if they're in a pasture (even if there's no stallion and they're not breeding).

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated!

I took a peek at your barns, silverborn. You have 29 intact horses and 13 show horses, so, yes, you probably do need more show horses. I would suggest that you take some of your 3 year old mares and toss them in the pasture to start earning their breeding bonuses now. Decide if you want your 4 year old mares to earn more show points, or if you want them to have better breeding bonuses. If breeding, then put them in the pasture as well. (Breeding in the pasture is a LOT cheaper!) Then find some show horses with nice points (total) and stash them in your barns where they can train and earn more points.

BUYING additional pastures can be accomplished by going to Voucher Exchange on the left menu bar, then to Shop with IVs.

Okay, so it looks like they still earn the daily show bonus, their bonus just doesn't increase (so my overall daily bonus increases more slowly per week when they're in a pasture)?

My goals are red-based riding horses with a lot of white, and black-based drafts with little white, so i could breed them to the warmblood stallions i have (any herd helper that could produce a color that benefits either of the above, i make a warmblood) and then sell any intact resulting foals that don't match the intended color theme I'm going for. Then even if i sold them for less than 2500 i would get a profit since they're pasture-bred, especially if i keep them until they're a little older and they get some show points accrued. Does that seem sensible?

So, my "peer group" would be May 2016, but can't seem to find that discussion group, so here I am! Yup, been on this game for a while, haven't really been posting on the forum so I made a lot of mistakes on my own. It took me the longest time to figure out the forum, I still get a note saying I'm not a member of the forums, which is confusing. I'm able to buy and sell horses so figured out enough.
I have a "Sales" barn if anyone is interested, just ask and I'll let you know if the horse is for sale. I've got the bootstrap group noted by letters at the beginning of names such as BB # or TT #. Those are the most often for sale. I have evenly bred horses, but mostly selling excess colts and lower PT and breeding ability mares.

Like Karista, I've been an avid horse lover since I was a child. However, life never seemed to line up to allow me to have a horse of my own, so I've mostly had to adore them from afar. I've been playing 'pet sim' games for the vast majority of my life (since having access to the internet, at the very least), and I love having some outlet to scratch that horse-owning itch. Love that I can fill my barns with draft horses.
