Help!

My cat, Tinkerbell, that was diagnosed as diabetic is getting to be alot with 3 kids. And it's not doing her feedings or meds. She literally hunts our bread down and tears it open to get to it. She's blatantly peeing in my bedroom near Wyatts pack and play. Of clothes get left down, which face it I have 3 kids they get pulled out, she pees on it. I cant afford to keep throwing the kids clothes out and replacing them. I don't want to rehome her or bring her to a shelter. If I bring her to a shelter they'll put her down and I dont want to see that. Please if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it! I dont want to lose her but I can't keep throwing stuff out. We're going to lose our security deposit. I don't know how much more I can take!

That sounds like a lot of stress and frustration, and I'm sorry you're going through all that. My piece of advice is to speak with your vet clinic. If Tinkerbell is still not behaving normally, then things are likely not controlled yet and the clinic may have the best ideas on how to proceed. I know from experience working at a vet clinic that diabetic cats are pretty high maintenance, especially when their diabetes isn't controlled.
In the meantime, it may be simplest to contain the poor kitty somewhere there is no clothing to pee on or extra food to eat, like a garage, basement, or room.
Again, I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I hope things will straighten out quickly for you, I'll be thinking positive vibes for you!ID# 25784Thanked by 1Amgr1992 -
:( I agree with BlueValley, call the vet. If she's peeing all the time then something's up.
Stop gap measures to help in the meantime would be a couple of extra litter boxes, that you clean religiously, in the places where she's peeing. Cat attract is a pheromone you can add to the litter to draw her to it more consistently.
You don't have to throw out the kid's clothes. Pretreat with Nature's Miracle if the odor is strong and wash normally. As a tech I get peed on all the time and don't even bother with the pretreatment. I just wash in hot water and detergent with an extra rinse. Anything with a filling like a coat, wash twice.
Clean everything she pees on with Nature's Miracle and bleach, if you can. She's attracted back to those places by the pheromone smell she leaves when she pees. That's what you have to get rid off to help her stop.
Praying things get better for you. So sorry @Amgr1992 :(Thanked by 1Amgr1992 -
