New GMT boy done-- Chinchilla questions?
-
I just GMT'd this boy all up and managed to successfully breed his first kiddo, but I realize I still don't fully understand the chinchilla gene...

Will it only work on Silver Black horses? (That's what I thought when I created him) Or will it also show up on Silver Bays, etc.
And is it the chinchilla affecting his mane and tail, or the flaxen?ID 32206 | Wolf735 | Nightmane Stables

I sell all my RS's as custom creates. Message me to reserve an upcoming create. -
Chinchilla shows up on pretty much anything that has an E, but how it expresses depends on the other genes. The silver is affecting his mane and tail.

The white mane and tail are flaxen. You called that right, but it's because of the chinchilla. All the bay alleles add an all over silver sheen, you should really run a search for hom chinchilla to get an idea of all the patterns it casts.45120

No, flaxen does not show on horses that are not red based. The mane and tail are light from the silver gene.ID 108
